It is unclear why the Nigerian Police did not respond to the situation. Jungle justice is fairly common in many Nigerian cities, where the sense that the system cannot provide justice compels mobs to mete out immediate ‘justice’.

The most famous mob killing in Nigeria till date was the killing of four University students in the town of Aluu, Rivers state.

If this grisly and macabre story of mob-murder most foul is indeed true, and that a SEVEN year old CHILD was actually murdered by a mob in broad daylight on a street in Lagos Nigeria, then this terrible, unforgivable killing of a starving CHILD easily ranks among the top ten most disgraceful mass crimes EVER to have been perpetrated within the Nigerian federation during recent times, outside the context of war.

When a SEVEN year-old child, who stole a handful of food to stave off hunger, could be so savagely and barbarically beaten to death by criminally liable ADULTS, and then BURNT to cinders with a gasoline-soaked car-tire in public, final emphatic confirmation has been served, establishing in pictures the very sad truth that whatever vestigial shreds of Nigeria's humanity remained, have now been comprehensively obliterated amid the swirling cauldron of loathing, desperation and blood-lust that is contemporary, year 2017 Nigeria.

Lagos State Governor Ambode would do well to IMMEDIATELY launch an urgent investigation into the public murder of this child in a street of his states' capital city, so as to round up ALL those who participated in this horrific child murder, and send them down to serve long jail spells, after fair and impartial trials on charges or felony homicide have been conducted.

Governor Ambode should then go the whole hog - the whole nine-yards, and take his OPEN stand AGAINST the unlawful public lynching of ANY human being, regardless of the circumstances.

Do the right thing, Governor Ambode, and tell the world that Lagos State will NEVER allow those who murder children in the street, to avoid the imposition of natural JUSTICE, in the court of law. Historically, Lagos State has remained a Nigerian mold-breaker, and a trail-blazer that is often emulated but never duplicated, by other states of the federation. The time has come for Governor Ambode to take his boldest and brashest, yet most compassionate and implicitly humanitarian stand EVER, by emphatically conveying to the good citizens of Lagos State that children will NOT be publicly murdered under his watch, starting NOW, today.
