RIVERS STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY HELD PLENARY SESSION, HON ABINYE BLESSING PEPPLE MADE A CASE ON MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN HOST COMMUNITIES AND JOINT INDUSTRY COMPANIES OPERATING IN RIVERS STATE

The Members of the Rivers State House of Assembly engaged themselves in a session yesterday, the Legislative sitting was on Consideration of Committee Report on Compliance Level, the House deliberated on Companies honouring and complying to Memorandom Of UNDERSTANDING (MOU) signed with Host Communities, the House also frowned at those oil Companies that don't comply.


In his submission, Hon Abinye Blessing Pepple of Bonny Constituency unequivocally and categorically enunciated that it is paramount that the JIC pay strict adherence to any accord appended with Host Communities, the Legislator who appeared on his traditional attire stated Communities that play host to these JICs must not be neglected especially on Corporate Social Responsibilites.

#The_Vocal as he is fondly called by his Colleagues also appealed to the Honourable House to do justice on any Company that breach such accord, stressing that will be unfair on the people should an erring Company go scot free, he also revealed that his Community cum Constituency plays host to Companies and such measures of implementation of MOU should be accorded to other Communities and Constituencies that play host.
