Re: A Nairalander's Neighbor's Gas Cylinder In Oyigbo, Rivers State (Photos) by Gobhanky: 6:05pm On Aug 01, 2017 |
U guys are dull. Cant u see thee is a hose connecting the cylinder to the gas unit. The cylinder is outside. So how can it explod inside when the cylinder is seperated from the building. Oh so u wont them to put it inside the kitchen ba. Af been doing these for years now. As long as its not leaking Infact i also put stone on top of the cylinder cause when those freaks at the gas station refil it They always tamper with it Making it leak This is safe Its betyer than camping gas which can explode instanta 1 Like |

Re: A Nairalander's Neighbor's Gas Cylinder In Oyigbo, Rivers State (Photos) by xreal: 6:15pm On Aug 01, 2017 |
sureboykris: I didn't also at first until I read comments. The regulator is probably loose hence leaking. The weight of the stones is to tighten the regulator and stop the leaking. Once gas is not enclosed it's no threat. |

Re: A Nairalander's Neighbor's Gas Cylinder In Oyigbo, Rivers State (Photos) by cyborg123(m): 6:22pm On Aug 01, 2017 |
It could be that the valve inside the regulator is not making proper contact to the valve of the cylinder. Some regulators fail that way & applying pressure to the top of the regulator will compress the rubber seal inside it and make the regulator work temporarily (the stones are applying continuous pressure in this case). This might not be dangerous at all... well, except the stone falls on the leg of a pokenoser like the OP. 1 Like 1 Share |

Wayaring: No need talking to them. Use an anonymous number to send message concerning the gas to your landlord/lady. Telling him how his house would soon be down to ashes. He will immediately correct them. This isn't recession. How much does a gas regulator cost for them to put their lives + neighbours lives and property at risk. |
Re: A Nairalander's Neighbor's Gas Cylinder In Oyigbo, Rivers State (Photos) by captain247: 6:27pm On Aug 01, 2017 |
Well it's so unfortunate that you Op couldn't help your neighbor seeing that he is just managing not that he doesn't know what to do. Either the regulator or the cylinder head is faulty tell him with support of 2k to go fix it in any gas filling station. You all are within the hazard zone should anything happen, it's not ur neighbor alone it will affect. |

It's not such a big a deal, false alarmists everywhere. What I'm seeing here is a faulty regulator which is not holding firm to the valve, hence preventing free flow of gas through the hose. The stones are used to tighten the grip of the regulator. Nothing dangerous about it, besides the cylinder is outside, reducing the risks of explosion. For the regulator to need to be held down by this many stones, it's as good as gone. Ordinary 2k regulator will solve this mess. 2 Likes |

Stevebamdex:Honestly my friend, I seem to be lost here. What is the hazard here in particular, is it where it is kept or what is on top of the cylinder, honestly I need more explanation, please help me out here |

Penny wise pound foolish... To think that the gas will still find a way to escape. One day, it is when they are cooking beans on Saturday night, that all the gas will escape. |
