Today, Hon. Justice Ezekiel Enang of Abak High court 1 ordered the dissolution of the constituted local government caretaker council in Akwa Ibom State. While giving the judgment in a suit HA/26/2016, the court held that it was unlawful for the Governor of Akwa Ibom State to appoint persons as caretaker committee chairmen and members for the 31 local government areas of the state. The Court also ordered the governor to immediately dissolve all the illegal constituted local government councils forthwith.
