Agimor: The money is there, every state in Nigeria can afford to pay more than 56k. It is only because of the wickedness and selfishness of the governors. All of them are piling up the money for their generations yet unborn just like DEZEANI . |

codedguy1:You can't say you want "true federalism" while also demanding that the national minimum wage be increased - a true step in the direction of "true federalism" would be to abolish the national minimum wage and allow all the states complete freedom to set whatever minimum they desire, but I doubt many of the fans of "true federalism" on here would support that. If you have a problem with the outrageous salaries and bonuses NASS members receive, fine, you're in good company, as I feel the same way, and I'm sure most people would agree outside the NASS members and their families. The right way to deal with that problem, however, is to get rid of all those ridiculous "allowances" and cut the NASS members' salaries to much lower levels, not to bankrupt the entire country paying inflated wages to an oversized public sector, even as vital infrastructure like roads and bridges are left to continue to decay. 3 Likes 1 Share |

omohayek: The truth is that Nigeria is an evil forest, calling it a zoo or jungle is a disservice to them. What does one do to get rid of an evil forest? Expecting the nass to on their own decide to reduce their salaries and allowances is a very tall order. Something extra ordinary needs to happen to get rid of an evil forest like Nigeria. Demanding for the minimum wage increase is because no one expects these nass members to reduce what they earn so that we all know that the discrepancies in the gap in what they earn is reasonable with others. The easiest demand is to ask for a minimum wage review. I tell you those guys would rather the country goes bankrupt than reduce that which they earn, hence my position that let them increase and let the country spiral into bankruptcy, maybe then our brains will be reset. I prefer restructuring/true federalism to the review of the minimum wage but we all saw how the bill was defeated in the house, so why won't the advocates for minimum wage demand for what they feel is easier to get. The retarded dingbats in that house know what to do but the northern ones feel it will impoverish them and their region and would defeat the bill because of their number. Some of the southern ones am sure were happy it was defeated so that they can continue earning what they earn. |

D salaries and wages commission needs to sit and look @ d salaries of Civil servants. Some level 8 are collecting 50k without allowances of any sort. Their mates in other parastatals are taking 200k as salaries and 150k as allowances aside foreign trips and trainings. E no just gel @ all |

They should not only review the minimum wage, price control of commodities in the market is equally important. Otherwise we continue to move in circles like a tabby cat that wants to catch its tail.
