Nigerians and jungle Justice. A teenager was nearly burnt to death last week in my area: his crime is he went to look for someone in a house that was robbed twice in week. They ve already sprayed petrol on him when police arrived the scene and rescue him. The worst thing was those that claimed He is an armed robber have refuse to go to the police station to give statement.

I advise that people should be very careful and mindful of their environment at anytime. It is very unfortunate that some people go to their untimely graves without the opportunity to defend themselves for the allegations leading to their jungle justice. We should learn not to be at the wrong place at the wrong time and for the wrong reasons.

The poor justice system in Nigeria has bred a generation of Nigerians that has lost hope in the judiciary, and hence, are eager to execute justice themselves, because they don't trust that government is able to bring bad eggs in the society to justice.

In this situation many innocent people are losing their lives daily to this self-styled justice, without the government doing anything about it. The Alu 4 case is fresh in our minds; even though some of the perpetrators has been given a sentence recently.

Bottom line is that we should be careful and vigilant so that we don't fall victims.
