It is high time Nigerians learnt how to apologise, say sorry. However, in this case I reckon Dora should pursue a court case so that people learn that making a defamatory statement about someone is not acceptable. It is only in a country like ours that someone can say something which is unfounded and untrue about any person and think s/he can go free.

Why is it so difficult for former AGF idonkia to simply say that he had made a verbal error and sincerely apologise and ask for forgiveness, no wonder Wole Soyinka said on CNN the other day that the man idonkia is talking from 4 compasses of his mouth and that he is a liar.

The letter sent by idonkia with 'my dear sister' is NOT and I repeat, NOT an apology but attempt to maintain status quo.

If Idonkia is sincere, he should just do what Dora Akunyili is asking for and that will be the end of the matter, otherwise matter will proceed to court and it will costs Idonkia more and he will still end up doing what Dora ask for.

Sorry is the simplest thing for an humble person when you are clearly wrong. Unrepentant person is the first cousin of an arrogant person. He who live by the sword should die of the sword. He has already given a 'simple proper apology'. Moreover, this is issue is quite different from looting or maiming or killing; it simply borders on libel. A simple retraction of the inflammatory statement and an apology should suffice - which, I am aware, AGF has done. All we are saying is that we're sick of this soap opera; there are far more important things they should be doing
