Youths from the 19 Northern states and Abuja under the aegis of Arewa Youth Forum, AYF, have alleged that some officials of the presidency, Northern governors and South West politicians were behind the protest against President Muhammadu Buhari.

They called on the politicians to immediately call those they described as their ‘attack dogs’ to order or face being exposed.

A statement issued by AYF National president, Alhaji Gambo Ibrahim Gujungu and made available to newsmen in Kaduna, Wednesday said they were pained that the same situation that happened during the Late president Umar Musa Yar’adua is trying to repeat itself.

The statement noted that instead of the Northern politicians to come together and fight for the interest of the region, they are busy positioning themselves for the post of Vice president.

It accused the northern governors who they said won election on the back of President Muhammadu Buhari’s popularity as not doing enough, saying they are either been cowed into silence by people like Ekiti state Governor Ayodele Fayose or are busy holding meetings negotiating for the Vice President’s slot.

The statement reads, “Let it be known that we are not unmindful of what is happening in Nigeria. We know those that are behind the protest against the President, as a group we are giving them 7 days to call their attack dogs to order or we will have no option than to expose them.

“For the avoidance of doubt, we are aware that Southwest politicians are behind the plot, they are colluding with some Northern governors and some elements of the presidency who do not wish the country and President Muhammadu Buhari well. But their time is ticking.

“The funny thing about these northern governors is that many of them won their elections on the back of President Buhari, we wonder why they are now interested in themselves and very ready to sell the man who is their benefactor for a plate of porridge.

“It is the same situation that happens during the late Umaru Musa Yar’adua that wants to repeat itself. But instead of fighting for the region, these governors are busy holding nocturnal meetings and negotiating for the position of Vice president, but we will soon expose them.

“A Governor from the South West, Ayodele Fayose is been used for their crusade against the President, but our northern governors are only murmuring in their chambers afraid to confront him. But let it be known that as people committed to the emancipation of the north and the unity and development of the country as a whole, we cannot be cowed into silence by anybody.

“We know that it is the fundamental rights of every Nigerian to protest, but protest must have a human face. We believe that President Buhari has done the right thing by handing over power to the acting President Professor Yemi Osinbajo who has been discharging his duties without hindrance.

“Those behind the scenes beating the drums of political discord should watch their steps. We are unto them.”

(1) I thought the south west is with the North?Why are they disgracing people that are fighting for them online?

(2) Not the interest of Nigeria,but the interest of the north,I pity those who believe that Nigeria is one.It is all about the North first,and Nigeria last.The North calls the shots,if they sneeze Nigeria catches cold.

(4) Fayose is an opposition and you should not expect him to agree to Buhari's incompetence and failure.Fayose is like a lone voice in the South west,I pity him,I hope his kinsmen will not abandon him just the way they did to Abiola when the chips are down.

Arewa youths are sadist. They should deal with Afonjas .

If only, other tribes learn to support their brother like the Arewas support Buhari. instead, my people are experts in making theirs look ordinary.
