Antonio Conte remains insistent there is no way back for Diego Costa at Chelsea.

The Blues manager told the combative striker earlier in the summer that he no longer featured in his plans.

However despite being told he can leave, the Spain international is yet to find a new club.

He’s understood to want a return to Atletico Madrid, but the La Liga side are unable to register new players until January which complicates that particular option.

In the meantime there have been growing concerns about the size of Chelsea’s squad.

The Blues have signed Alvaro Morata to replace Costa, but there is an acceptance that the young striker may need time to adapt to the Premier League.

But despite an obvious case for bringing Costa back into the fold, Conte remains......
