Austinoiz: My state is Lagos and it offers everything. Some of those profiled by Forbes made their money in Lagos. You even read about the one called Carter because he sold stuff under Carter bridge in Lagos. Do you have another foolish question you want me to dispose of? 3 Likes |

StOla: That Forbes article was not well researched in my humble opinion. What was all that story about using Ojukwu's Rolls Royce to chauffeur the Queen around during her visit? Amarabae:No, in this case the Igbo writer of that article in Forbes made a blunder, by rushing to press without crosschecking the facts of his story. 3 Likes |

louqas: What's wrong with us black people? Why can't we celebrate our brother's achievements. Assuming we have been celebrating one another there wouldn't have been any need for the current succession movements here and there like IPOB, Arewa etc.. Let's celebrate ourselves just like the whites. . Bro 5 Likes 2 Shares |

laudate: The story had been told here before of the Ojukwu Snr Rolls Royce and the Queen's visit. I don't doubt that a rich man could afford a Rolls Royce then. It is just like every other very expensive car that every rich man could afford then and now if truly desired. I dare say Ojukwu Snr could definitely afford 20 of it, and it has been reported that Ojukwu Jnr himself rode in the car as an Oxford student to test run it for the dad before shipping to Nigeria. What many doubt is that the British would have to borrow the private car of a Nigerian when the head of the British Empire is visiting, when they had all of Nigeria's wealth at their disposal to afford one for even their colonial governor's use. The tale of the Roll Royce being lent to the colonial government for the Queen's visit, has not been confirmed by any official government source. But if true, the ridicule goes to the British government. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Odingo1: Don't worry, I don't need to claim what is already mine. But the same federal government makes so much money from Lagos. Like all other states, Lagos state got federal allocations to use for its own good. Has Lagos State collapsed since the capital moved to Abuja? Capital or not, oil money or not, Lagos was favoured by nature to be great, so the greatness before oil will continue even after oil. And nobody has denied that Lagos/Eko and not Lagos State was a satellite kingdom of the Benin Empire. But the native inhabitants have and will always be Yoruba. That same Lagos/Eko is less than 15% of the present size of Lagos State created from the Western Region in 1967. 4 Likes 2 Shares |

No empire can even lay claim to a satellite kingdom. They may pay you royalties, they may send emissaries to felicitate with the emporor during his festivals, but they will certainly celebrate their own native festivals and customs too. Even the Binis have not claimed that they are looking for any lost holdings to reclaim. 2 Likes |

stanluiz:I made reference to the person who wrote that piece for Forbes. It was written by Eromo Egbejule, an Igbo guy. Nobody said anything about Forbes being an Igbo media. Am sorry to say this, but you are an ignoramus! Do you now want to lay claim to Forbes too, in the same way your people have been laying claims to Lagos? 5 Likes |
