Many humans are too comfortable in their four walls. This goes double, sadly for Nigerians. Today I'm going to go through various ways our very dear world, could possibly end.

1) Eruption of a Supervolcano : a volcano is a rupture in the crust of earth that allows the escape of ash ,molten magma and various gases. A supervolcano is as you guessed much more powerful. Take for example what will happen if the the Yellowstone caldera located in Yellowstone park in Washington DC erupted. The lava would kill everyone within a city wide radius immediately. The eruption itself would cause world wide eruptions of volcanoes. Massive tsunamis would emerge wiping out cities closest to the sea. The volcanic ash would block the sun and various gases would choke us to death. The world would very much be like the Mad Max movies during the aftermath, that is of course if there is an aftermath.

2) The After effect of a nearby Star's Supernova : This is less likely to happen because the closest star to our solar system is Alpha Centauri. This is actually a three star system consisting of Alpha Centauri A and B and their dim companion Proxima Centauri. They are about 4.3 lightyears away from our solar system which is quite a distance. But if one of them experienced a supernova the effects could still be felt. A nearby planet could be hurled at our own or worse, we could be hit by concentrated gamma radiation.

3)The Supernova of our own Sun: Ah yes, the life force of our tiny solar system The Sun. A magnificent yellow dwarf star that holds all the planets in our solar system in orbit. Have you not ever wondered, what if it went boom?. This is quite simple... We would all die painful deaths. But do not worry, it isn't scheduled to go boom in another billion years or so.

4) A Blackhole: One the most monstrous things in our universe, blackholes are so powerful that not even light escapes it's pull. Black holes are everywhere, but they are too small to cause any harm on earth. The largest one ever found has the mass of 41 billion suns, in comparison a black hole as large as a coin is enough to swallow the earth. Thankfully this behemoth is about 336 million light years away.

Our universe is huge, one wonders whether the existence of life could be a future possibility even.
