If you can learn French language in your country, then this is quite a good way to study. A variety of courses are usually available, including part-time and full-time courses. If you look around, you would probably find that you need French language as one of the most widely spoken languages after English language.

One big advantage of French is that, you'll have a teacher or tutor to provide you with instruction, support and feedback and with whom to practice the language. You will also be studying with others who are at more or less the same level and you can compare notes with them and help one another. Formal courses also help you to structure your studies.
Taking this course is for everyone in Nigeria especially as it is a second official language. However some people don't feel comfortable in a classroom environment and prefer to study at their own pace and convenience
Studying a language in a country where it's spoken is one sure fast way of mastering it. There are numerous schools teaching English, French, Spanish, Italian and German, but far fewer teaching other languages. The major advantage of studying abroad is that you are totally immersed in the language, not just in class, but the rest of the time as well. As a result, a fairly rapid progress is recorded. Another benefit of studying abroad is that one gets to taste the local cuisine, familiarizes with the locals and their culture.
Nevertheless, studying abroad is the expensive in terms of the studies and other necessities such as accommodation, food and travel. This can be ruled out now that you can study the language in your own country with well trained and competent teachers.
If you cannot find a suitable course for your programme in your locality and are unable to spare the time to study abroad, you could consider online courses. There are many to choose from and French is one of the simplest.

A good way to practice and improve your French is to find a language exchange partner. This is someone who speaks French and wants to learn your own language.
