In most African folklore, a Tortoise depicts either a ticklish or deceitful character. In this metaphorical story, a Tortoise opened a ‘Prayer house’ and deceived his two clients, a Chicken and a Fox, to believe that he was helping them solve their problems, while he wasn’t, yet both walked home satisfied believing in the Tortoise’ recommendations. A mimic of what happens today in most organized religions
