Dont know about other places but in my Town as the Tradition Law put it that to fulfill burial rites , the First son have to Kill a Male Goat for the Late Parents especially the father , The Goat is killed and shared between the Kinsmen shortly after the burial day... Failure of that person doing so if he mistakenly have a taste of that of the Goat meat any where , the Spirits will be after him might even kill him , even in home the meat is cooked on seprate Pot because other members of the family are even afraid , I have witness Men Of God Partake in this Rites so is it good as a christain do involve in such Because i see this As Idol Mynd44 , Lalasticlala , come share ur views ...

It's not good. Those men of God doing it lack faith. Just go on serious fasting and deliverance to separate yourself, study the word of God adequately and pray consistently because there's nothing God can do. Satan is just using threat to lure men to bondage

Before you consider whether it is alright to do , the following questions should be asked :
1. What do they do with the goat before and after killing ?
2. Is there any form of sacrifice done with the goat ?
3 or is it just for sharing and eating .

You see, in most of our traditions a lot of people will say they are no longer idol worshippers but they still hold on to the idolatrous part of the tradition that has to do with eating meat. Is it the meat that is attracting them, I don't know.
If the killing of the goat have no idol worshipping or sacrifice attached and its just for eating, then it is alright.
But it is to sacrifice to an idol in order to keep one spirit away, then it is a no no for a believer.

The funny thing is that people who are holding on to and insisting on this are supposed to be Christians.

yeah u are right there is something attached to it , they normally involve some saying before killing the Goat .

Did they tell u to take the goat to any shrine? if yes u may object, but if its ur people 's culture to kill goat for elders, I see nothing there.
