My lecturer once told me creativity implies “thinking outside the box” and for months I pondered over it and since then I always tried thinking outside the box when faced with things to write.
Thinking outside the box is creativity, and what exactly is creativity? “Creativity involves doing old things in a new way.” It is the act of making new connections between old ideas or recognizing relationships between concepts.
Creative thinking is not about generating something new from a blank slate, but rather about taking what is already present and combining those pieces in a way that has not been done previously by anyone.
The process of creativity isn’t as easy as it seems, nearly all great ideas follow a similar creative process. I believe the process of creative connection always occurs in five steps.
