There is no doubt that there are lots of businesses that thrive very well in recession ridden economy while there are some businesses that will die off or struggle to survive during the period. Let have a look at businesses that thrive very well in recession.

1.HEALTH CARE SERVICES: The health sector market has always grown and will always continue to grow as the health sector services are always very relevant across all seasons not minding the economic state of the nation. People will always fall sick, so the there is always a constant need for the Health workers, Patent medicine vendors, Pharmacists, etc

2.GENERATOR/CAR MECHANICS: In recession, people rarely invest in new stuffs like cars, generators, etc. Rather they strive to maintain the ones they already have. Hence, people in the maintenance industry have leveraged so much on that during the current economic downturn

3. FOOD STUFF VENDORS:Food is always a priority for every body. People may decide not to embark on any other project, but certainly they MUST eat! Even if the price of food stuff are raised, people will always buy. Food is always the first and the most important need for everyone according to Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. Indeed Food stuff vendors have made lots of millions during recession periods as people still buy food stuffs not minding the general increase in the price.

4. DEALERS ON CONTRACEPTIVES:People will always have urge for sex no matter the economic situation. Teens and young adults will always have sex but will have the need to use contraceptives. Research shows that Couples still enjoy sex during economic down turn, but most of them try as much as they could to avoid having babies during such period. So this market is not affected by the economic recession

5.FUNERAL AND OBITUARY SERVICES:Death is inevitable, no man can control the rate of death. People die every day, hence the Funeral services sector is not affected by economic recession as people will always want to give their departed loved ones a befitting burial. This is quiet opposite to the wedding services providers who suffer from poor patronage during economic recession.

6.SCHOOLS AND TUTORIAL SERVICES:For owners of Day care centres, nursery schools, primary schools, secondary schools, etc it is business as usual as parents will always send their kids to school, not minding the economic down turn.

7.TRANSPORTATION: There is always a need for people to travel from place to place, so the transportation business has defied the recession and is raking in millions for the key players in the industry. The recession period has seen the entry of players like UBER, Findmyride, etc and this has confirmed that this sector has not declined during this economic down turn.
