The Minister Of Labour, Sen Chris Ngige Should Be Sacked For Non Performance by anwuruoku: 2:17pm On Aug 24, 2017 |
There is urgent need for the presidency to relieve some of the cabinets their duties if the country must move forward. This is as a result of the fact that this ministers are constitutionally responsible to the president and their inability to perform is the reason why their is a wanton cajole and blames on President Buhari led administration. The eyes of Nigerians are always on our President who is known for his integrity, honest and very determined to move the country forward. Success will hardly be achieved when you have a set objective or goal to be attained, only to have an incompetent sycophants around you. whose primary responsibility ought to be galvanization of ideas and efforts to ensure that such goal is attained are there rubbishing your efforts. The lack of trust and confidence that is been seen on the side of the Nigerians with regards to the President Buhari led administration is as a result of People like Sen Chris Ngige who was appointed as a minister in this administration not necessary on competent but compensation. Chris Ngige who is the minister of labour and productivity have continued to display high level of ineptitude and unprofessionalism in the discharge of his duties. Since he assumed office as the minister, he have not been able to show serious zeal in moving the country forward through the portfolio that was assigned to him.The Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment is the Nigeria Federal Ministry concerned with relations between workers and employers. The Federal Ministry of Labour and Productivity has the central purpose of ensuring cordial relations between workers and employers in the public and private sectors. The basic question here is what has Sen Ngige done to ensure that there is a cordial relationship between the workers and employers since he assumed office as the minister of labour in 2015. What is he really doing with the strike action that is been en-backed by the ASUU. It is really regrettable that the academic staff union of the universities are on strike and the minister of labour and productivity is yet to take any proactive measures to forestall it. It pains that the students are at home adding to the recession that is currently ravaging the country and the minister is not doing anything to address the situation. This ugly trend could have been averted if the minister knows his duties, been that this issue have been on the table even before he assumed office. Mr President should save his prestige as well as Nigeria from an ineptitude that is associated with the office of minister of labour and productivity. Technocrats who knows what the ministry is all about should be shopped for, who will replace the medical Doctor that was appointed on compensation basis. Ngige should be sacked to avert this ugly scenario that has consistently played out since he assumed office. He should be sacked and be replaced with someone who has the capacity to negotiate labour relations so that this incessant strike actions can be averted. Such is not good for the country and is given the present administration a bad name.
