The patriarch of that Gnassingbe family,Etienne Eyadema has sinned greatly. That man single-handedly overthrew Togo's first democratically elected government. Infact he put Togo on the map as the first West African State to experience a military coup when he led a group of ex-servicemen who had been discharged from the French Army to overthrow the administration of Sylvanus Olympio (whom the french never liked) in 1963. After that they proceeded to enstool a French puppet,Nicholas Grunitzky. A few years later he would overthrow Grunitzky and enthrone himself as the supremo. And since then,it has been the Gnassingbes all the way.

And now they are trying to create the "environment" to install another puppet..
If this has the blessing of the French, then trust me,the anti-Gnassingbe protesters will succeed but if Faure Gnassingbe still enjoys the blessings of France then they are wasting their time. You saw what happened after the elections in Gabon, right?

@codemaniacs after the last elections in Gabon which Ali Bongo won, violent protests broke out all over the country. The protesters alleged massive rigging. The protests were so severe that for a moment I was fooled(and I wasn't alone) into thinking that Bongo had lost the support of the French and that the end of the Bongo dynasty was near. After all the noise, deaths, destruction and every thing else,Ali Bongo is still there unshaken. The French still like their old friends you see?

@arinzeejikonye take my word for it,unless something extra-odinary happens, this "revolution" is dead on arrival(DOA). This is not the first time this sort of thing is happening in Togo, you know?

Nigeria Federal Government should learn from this. Soldiers wil not be able to defeat the might of the angry citizens. Cos even rats these days chase away Presidents.

this protest was last week Saturday, the bigger protest is tomorrow, the rally would be bigger than the previous one. all they want is the 1992 constitution so that would enable the current president unable to contest for 3rd term.

YOUR SUMMATION IS NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH... BUT I FEAR COS PMB IS UNAVAILABLE TO DO ANYTHING NOW..I DONT KNOW THE CAPABILITY OF OUR GHANA CHARLIES
we are very capable. the fact that no one is speaking publicly about it doesn't mean nothing is happening. there are closed door meetings going about how best to handle the situation. if Togo is in trouble now, Ghana will feel the pain more than any other country so don't worry, our president is helping solve the situation just we did with Ivory Coast, Gambia, etc. military option is not the best right now even though we can intervene militarily.

Ghana is not in the business of intervening in the politics of other countries though it finds the protesters demand legitimate and has a left hand in fuelling the current crisis cos Togo has been Ghana' s trouble and a ticking bomb waiting to explode . It better gradually unfold than explode at once in the future.

ghana has the second largest economy in West Africa after Nigeria.

Ghana has a very stronger army than Senegal, we have more weaponry too Mr dumbness.
