WHO's A WOMAN Now let's take a look at how women came about. What really prompted the creation of women? God said," it's not good for man to be alone, I'll make him a helper, a companion" "genesis 2v18. Now we can see the reason God created woman in the first place. She is to be a helper, a companion. Meanwhile man saw Eve and said, "finally, bone of my bone, flesh of my flesh, I'll name her woman for she was made from man" Along the line the serpent spoke to the woman and the woman wanting to know all things, ate from the tree and gave her husband. That incident led to the fall of man, God cursed the woman saying, "I'll multiply your pains in child birth; you'll give birth in pains, you'll want to please your husband, but he'll lord over you" and also cursed man too. Since then man and woman lived on with the curse till date. That means man live with his curse while woman also live with her. Meanwhile the position of woman as a companion wasn't relieved of her. Let's take a look at Sara- the wife of Abraham, one of the earliest woman. When God asked Abraham to leave Ur and move to where he'll show him. Sara followed him without complaints, she did not argue or ask why, but she simply obeyed him because she acknowledged him as her lord. What does this mean? It means at that time women were subjects to the men and they embraced that, knowing fully well that it is the Lord's will and not man's. What of the modern woman? Can she follow her husband that way? Will she not tag him insane? Will she not tell him to go and leave her because she has the right to do as she pleases? Will she not go ahead to marry another man? If your answer is yes to all this, then does this mean that the modern woman is rejecting her place in life? Trying to change the will of God?
