Alhaji Abdullahi AbdulHameed, the Chief Imam Imale of Illorin, Kwara, has warned Muslim faithful not to lend money in other to purchase rams for the coming Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

In an interview in Illorin today, Friday, the Chief Imam made the utterance.

Chief Imam backed up his warning, saying Allah will definitely not reward anyone that lend from Cooperative societies or Banks.

“Muslims must not borrow money or take loan to perform spiritual duties as there will be no reward for that action,’’ he said.

He advised that Muslims should look for other festival good alternative for ram slaughter.

“When one borrows or take a loan, one does not have complete ownership of the money and such money cannot be used for animal sacrifice for the festival.’’

He insisted that Muslims should lesser their budget spending for ram slaughtering to avoid seeking loans.
