The President-General of the Yoruba Community in Plateau State, Chief Toye Ogunsuyi, narrowly escaped death with his family yesterday evening as his house along Zaria Road, Jos was bombed by unknown persons.

Although it is not clear when the bomb was planted in his house, it was gathered that the bomb exploded during the curfew hours.
Effort to reach Ogunsuyi proved abortive but his neighbors told journalists who had throng the scene that the Yoruba chief said he was watching television with his wife when he suddenly heard a loud bang on his roof.

He was said to have immediately reached out to the direction of the bang when he saw that his roof was already on fire.
He hurried out with his family and within minutes the entire house was said to have been engulfed by fire.
He had similarly escaped death during the crisis in January when he and the Oba Yoruba of Jos, Chief Solomon Olugbodi were attacked by hoodlums and were injured.

There are insinuations that Ogunsuyi’s attack may not be unconnected with his recent protest over the exclusion of the Yorubas in the Solomon Lar-led advisory committee set up by the Federal Government on the crisis.
The attack is seen by many as a consequence of his unrelenting position that the Yoruba deserved equal recognition with any other settler group.

An Igbo Chief in Jos, Ndu Chidi who reacted to the bomb attack said his house was attacked in a similar pattern.
Earlier in the week the Igbo community had protested the gruesome killing of one Ikechukwu by the Hausa/Fulani who had a fracas with the indigenes over a portion of land to bury a corpse.

Chidi said “we are not land owners, and we are not involved in the dispute of land trespass, but we were shocked when Ikechukwu, a welder in front of his shop was attacked by the Hausa group and murdered in cold blood right in front of his shop.

“We had reported to the Katako Police Station since yesterday but nothing has been done till this moment; no arrest was effected and we can still see the murderers moving about freely, that’s why we are protesting.”

However, when contacted, the Plateau State Police Public Relations Officer, Mohammed Lerama, has denied knowledge of the recent mishap in the city. He said the matter had not been reported to the command.

I will say it again: I'll choose bad roads, a nasty economy, a moribund education system, etc, to these Northerners.

Re: Yoruba Leader Bombed In Jos by edoyad(m): 12:09pm On Feb 20, 2010
Citizen Y, all signs point to the fulfilment of what your people are destined to get. On one fine day we'll all be seated when the process of unravelling Nigeria will begin like a flash. It will spread like it has a life of It's own and before you know it hausa man will not have any neighbour to leech on anymore. If you don't read history i suggest that you start doing so now because it will help you prepare for the times.
Re: Yoruba Leader Bombed In Jos by citizenY(m): 12:45pm On Feb 20, 2010
@Edoyad

Thank you. And I will see how those whose history is confined to a few pieces of pottery in a cave and
less that 3 wards in a local government will form their own country. I see good in other people but abhor
arrogance and disrespect when there is no need for it. If you have any grouse against anyone, face him.
I do not see which station you have attained that your perceived foes have not reached and surpassed
and in larger numbers. Your paranoia is getting out of hand.

You come across as a little kid imbued with a bloated ego that cannot be backed by antecedents and
demography. I have made reference to your elders on one occasion.Maybe you need to hear from them
before you speak in public. You do not know your history.

What is there to be leeched in NOk? Your mess is only creating more problems for your elders
who will be left to wipe your ass after you must have alienated the community with your big mouth
and thoughtless utterances.
Re: Yoruba Leader Bombed In Jos by edoyad(m): 1:16pm On Feb 20, 2010
Citizen Y Going by your thought process we could say that hausa people are living in peace in jos, southern kaduna and many other parts where they're fast becoming persona non grata. Is it jaba people that want to annihilate them in jos today ? Are nok people responsible for what they suffered in Zangon kataf in the 90s ? Who will be responsible for what will befall them in kwarra, kogi and niger states soon ?
I believe you've heard of the expression, "pandora's box".
Re: Yoruba Leader Bombed In Jos by citizenY(m): 1:57pm On Feb 20, 2010
The Pandora's box is there and my impression in this case is a hypothetical construct that
could manifest itself where disparate social groups that cannot sustain themselves
for lack of a tradition of social exchange and therefore have remained in the shadows
of more dominant but immediate neighbours find themselves in direct competition for
scarce resources that cannot be generated from the immediate environment,

You give the impression that Hausa people are only living in the middle belt, which is false.
I think you should be more worried in a worst case scenario when you become a gypsy,
Ths is not the turf for small minds like you. It will be left for broadminded folk to meander
through and come out with a solution. Your elders will salvage the situation. Not to worry.

You know the story of the young man always shouting when there is no lion------

Haha this guy is truly a joker. Have you been to any of your almajiri communities/towns/states recently ? Let me clarify, do you honestly believe that there is any chance in hell that a hausa nation would be able to exist on God's earth on It's own ? There is no doubt in my mind that Somalia as it is today would be a by far better nation than anything a group of almajiris could fabricate. Even with the amount of resources available you're still not able to educate and develop yourself, just imagine what it would be like in the future nation of Almajeria that is east becoming your fate.

My education is a waste ? At least i have an education.
Please tell us how many almajiri relatives you have as we speak and don't try to lie to us saying that you have none. If don't know how many you have then please tell us how many of them line up outside your family home every evening to sing for food that many people would rather feed their dogs with.

Yoruba certainly has nothing to lose from a broken Nigeria.

Its a shame to be referred to as a Nigerian with those almajiris

Your quote:-
My education is a waste ? At least i have an education.

So I have made a correct observation. Your education is a waste and so infantile that you are unable to have a grasp of
issues and make any responsible and cogent replies.

Let me tell you, words are very special tools that reveal the construction of the mind. I have used this to unravel your persona.
You have a one track mind and a paranoia beyond reason. The Hausa have a problem, Yes. So does everybody. IS that enough reason to
hold that as your first commandment and must be the first statement you utter everyday, No? Why, because you have revealed yourself to be an atheist, for which I have no grouse . It is better to believe in something than to believe in nothing. Even a village fool knows that Night and day, heat and cold and the human beings around him must be by the grace of somebody. There is no humanity in your construction and this , coupled with paranoia is eating you up.

I have brought your attention to your folly in various ways till I now determined through your posts that you are just an empty vessel from
some remote and maybe endangered specie of Southern Kaduna composed of a few council wards. Thereafter i tried to illustrate to you that the
comedy you are exhibiting is too unbecoming for your ilk and really doubted your capacity to judge others when you have not appreciated the issues at stake. An educated mind will first of all study a problem before any critique and when you do not suggest a solution, then your education is suspect and your enlightenment comes into question when prejudice and insults form the only basis of your presentations.

With all due respect , I find your type, and I told you so, as misguided elements who are out to further deepen the crisis of confidence between our communities for no just reason than a confused and uninformed state of mind. In this respect I took solace that there are more responsible people in your community that can clean up your mess, and you did not even get the drift.

Let me tell you, when put comes to shove, you will understand my reference to gypsies, endangered species etc etc. This is why your education is suspect. You do not understand the status of your community and when you use that virtually non existent shield to throw barbs at others, your irrationality is fully established. I can tell you free of charge that you, Edoyad are very inconsequential for whatever purpose in your clan. You only have one vote and a big mouth, whose poo can be cleaned up by more mature minds. I want you to read between the lines.

Thee world has moved beyond paranoia and petty prejudice . I expect people in your shoes to know better. There is no way you can put your head above water without alliances and cooperation with others. And demography/location is not in your favour. Whatever permutations you are thinking of will come to nought and I do not see your type playing a role there. There is no heroism in stupidity.

In the light of the foregoing, I do not intend to engage simple minds like you since I can understand the reasons for your dragging me into the fray.

My Friend while children of normal people go to school in the morning these ones are sent out begging. Though there's no empirical data available I believe there could be close to ten million of these in Nigeria and i'm not exaggerating.

Hhmmmm, citizenY is spending time trying to educate fellows like Edoyad.
CitizenY, remember that there is a saying that "a dog that is determined to get lost does not hear the whistle of it's master". so all these things you are saying to this Edoyad of a guy is just a waste of time. i think you should concentrate on more intelligent people because this Edoyad of a guy does not sound educated. he claims the north has almajiris everywhere and is poverty-ridden then he goes elsewhere to say the southerners are sufferring while the northerners are enjoying. and he does not even notice the contradiction in what he is doing. You should know from your earlier argument with him that he is not intelligent enough to understand all the things you are saying.

we need less of people like for Nigeria to move forward.

So forget him.
Re: Yoruba Leader Bombed In Jos by MoIbrahim: 2:11pm On Feb 23, 2010
it's a shame how we "educated" Nigerians cannot conceptualize unity even in our minds. At a time when people are saying "discrimination is too much here, let's come together as one in the name of European Union, “educated” Nigerians are saying "discrimination is too much here, let's break up". IS THAT THE MOST INTELLIGENT SOLUTION THAT WE CAN THINK OF? IN THIS MODERN AGE? Haba!!!!

It was just a public service, till I ended up with a nonentity who has no grasp
of even the basics in etiquette, demography and politics of his roots. Tried as much
as possible to get him on the right track, finally concluded that he is irredeemable and
took solace in the capacity of more decent folks in his corner of the world to right
harmful deeds.

Iprevioiusly held on to the maxim that opinions were like ass>>> holes, everybody has them
until Edoyad sowed me his own hole >>> on his forehead. I have closed that chapter. grin grin grin grin grin

My favourite thread.
@can you see why the hausa man will continually be called cow, maloo, almajiri et al ? We're asking what is the cause of a growing illiterate and hungry population amongst hausa people resulting in almajiris and beggars flooding Nigerian streets and He's telling me that the reduction of the population of descendants of ancient nok people is what we should be focusing on.
It's a pity but i think the hausa people should pack their selves in those trailers they like to travel in like the cows they're known imitate and return home to their rural states of bauchi, zamfara, jigawa, sokoto, katsina etc and leave progressives who want their offsprings to get an education and contribute meaningfully to society.
