Good PM to everyone around here,

My activity on Nairaland has rapidly declined over the last couple of years and I've also had to change my account name from @Kizzykeziah for a couple of reasons relating to the previous account.

Really I've missed this "party of writers" but I see a lot has changed too @Divepen1

I thought I should try sending up some few lines I've drafted and see if the "reading party" is still around too....

I fell for the brute

Some days I’ve found myself with the worst of luck,

Nothing like that which I found,

The day I met you.

A pure fling, I thought

A harmless conversation.

No more do I find comfort in pure deceit,

That your eyes had calmly feigned,

For right where I lay,

My chest heaving in rapid breaths,

As I struggle to restrain my tongue,

From uttering the curse it would spew,

To subject you to misery,

Is all I’d plead for...

You were the brute,

An ugly demon,

That had strayed in my path

Blood on your lips,

Flesh in your teeth.

Yet my angels somehow tended to you.

They saw your broken wings,

And whispered comfort to your ears,

“I'd never leave your side”

I wish I had turned in time,

To watch the smirk on your face,

Or see your evil smile

The devil’s himself

But all I had seen was a piteous fellow

Desperately needing warmth.

A demon you've always been,

With every swing.

Your gait,

Your words,

Your jokes,

And worse still,

Your perfect aura.

Now I thank more than my stars,

And holler at my demons too,

For breaking out when they did.

As they had broken your beak,

Just in time,

Before you could peck me with death.

The sour lingering sting,

I had just in time missed

Than be joined to the bastard you are

And always will be
