I was so scared! It was a journey I had to go! my boss could see through my fear. But had to. I said my prayers, confessed my sins and got nervous for most part of the flight! Still get scared still! terrible invention i call it! |

I was already a grown man and it was a C-130 military plane. The plane is so rugged, entrance is through the tail end of the plane. i had a little view of the window because we sat side by side just as they do when you are on a TATA lorry. We backed the windows. The windows are not many like the commercial planes. The taking off and landing is done in a military way(no ceremoney) no announcement from the pilot, but they are professionals. You guess on your own if the plane is taking off or landing. Pitching and rolling is done in a hard way. There was nothing to be afraid of, loud noise from the propeller, ear drums popping etc. |

ummm first time i was on a plane was when I was a baby but my first time actually remembering it . . I fly all by myself when I was ten years old to visit my aunt who lived in Odessa Texas. I was scared, but the attendants pampered me so much because I was so young that it was really fun! |

Man mi I remember my experience vividly, menh I use to tot flying on a plane was the coolest thing ever, like meeting fine babes or potential bizz partner, newayz let get to the story. My first experience was when Naija airways (abi na airline) still dey fly obodo oyinbo. I was happy and looking forward to this 15hrs trip (Non-stop). Firstly the way the inside of the plane dey smell like dead ratz the luggage area was mad too small, it only contain 2 small luggages (while unlike other planes u can fit close to 4 medium bags). Then come the food part, chei only in Nigeria will dey serve you ofoda rice (the type of rice that contains sand) with one humongous bush meat, menh I chop the meat for the whole 15hrs. Then come the story of the crazy passengers, e be like se we dey dress market the way iya risika and iya tawa dey yawn in loud tone , menh they spoke for like , the whole 15hrs, they were actually calling one and another iya basira bawo loja (how is market) iya kubura ijo wo loma losi south Korea( when r u going to s/Korea) iya ibidun, taye lolu nko (how is taye) and the hostess or wat ever they call themselves couldn't caution them, bear in mind there's is no T.V on naija airways, just one big screen that display current location of the plane, and guess what pple, the screen suddenly stopped working 3hrs to the flight. Now I have to listen to all these dress market yawn and to add salt to injury, there were no fine babe(s) na so so woowoo ppl dey the flight, and both take off and landing of the plane na like watching SAW V. that stuff was scary as hell, I could go on but ama stop right here, any how shaa Naija for laf |

^^^^^ wow. almost unbelievable. pele k? first time on a plane, was little, but i stil rmbr some stuff. i know it was to China cos il nvr forget the people there (short and funny lookin) and that was the first time i ate rice and veggie. urgh. nyway i rmbr crying a loot on the plane, and i refused to be pacified until my dad bought me two ribenas. i gave one to some white girl cos her skin looked funny to me too, and we walked arnd the plane together. funny no one stoppd us. my mom was all to relieved of my incessant crying to try. since then, iv been an odd child lool. i love take-offs and landings, and the only thing nice about the rest of the flight is turbulence. Popsi was pretty scared when we flew together (first time that happend) and i kept muttering 'turbulence please for God's sake' |

airzzee:thank you!!! was gonna bring it up but didn't want to derail this thread. but since you asked. . . YESSSSSSSSS I LOVE THAT SHOW!!!! ONE OF MY FAVORITES. i've watched every episode of Air Crash Investigation but not "Seconds From Disaster" i know the show is scary and it may give you the creeps or make you never want to get on a plane ever again, but i find shows like that very interesting, cause I'm an aviation lover. but what's with you trying to discourage me? |

THE AMAKA: Nice to knw I'm nt alone in this "wierd" progrme. I tot I m d only person dt loves it. Dt's my best, & best, & d best TV prgrme 4 me. I learn a lot from it. Mayb, we shall a thread to discuss d episodes we watched. I love planes badly. At times, I feel I can fly one without going thru d training; just by watching AC investigation. Thanks dear Olisa4all: Tnx Olisa, That's my favourite TV progrme. I can do without it But, I disagree wit u concerning your stats. Most crashes are caused by human error - from the ground crew, to the cabin crew error. |

My first experience. Virgin Nigeria from Owerrri to Lagos. It was not a good experience, everybody have already boarded the plane. I was the last to enter. I was scared, could not buckle the belt, couldn't eat. Thanks for the help of the man that sat down beside me.He noticed my anxiety and said to me"First experience is always like that". Despite the fact that i am a high flier i still have phobia for flying |
Re: Your First Day On A Plane by Oba234: 8:50am On Feb 23, 2010 |
My first day on a plane was when I was 10 yrs old leaving from murtala airport to the US via amsterdam. I was expecting an entrance on the ground where I climb on the steps like in the movies, so I was shocked when I was led into a corner that lead me inside a plane. At first, I didn't even know I was on a plane untill take off. I remembered my aunt had made puff puff and she put it in a cooler for us to eat on the plane. Till today, I still don't know what happen to that puff puff. That day was the last time I was in Nigeria and I haven't been back since. I thought airline food was disgusting and I refused to eat anything except tootsie roll candy. There was a white lady that ate everything on her plate spot clean and I kept looking at her like is the food really that good? She was looking at me crazy because everytime they gave me a plate of food, I wouldn't touch it the flight attendant will come back and pick the plate just as it was when the food was given. I was an unaccompany minor with my 2 siblings, so we were on our own and I was the oldest at 10yrs old. I get motion sickness, so by the end of my plane ride, I had thrown up on myself. I remembered they took me in another room to wipe me down. When I got to amsterdam, I didn't understand their english. It was too fast for me. They ask whether I had any weapons in my luggage and since I didn't understand what she was asking I nod my head and said yes. The woman had a concern look on her face untill one nice yoruba man explained what she was saying to me in Yoruba and then I change my answer. They took us to some place where we stay for some hours untill our plane arrived. whew, That was the longest plane ride of my life. I wasn't scared or afraid. I just felt nauseous through out the plane ride especially from amsterdam to the US. |
