I av been following threads on relationships and marriage for a long time now and one thing I discovered is dat d advice most pple get when dey come for advice is "pray so that God will tell u if d person is urs or not" and stuffs like dat. Even d op who complained of being a virgin at 33 and wanting to settle down also got d same advice from some pple who commented.
Aldoe I'm faith based, yet I av not seen anywhere in d bible where anyone went to pray first to check if a person is God ordained Bae or not. I've read my Bible front and back, I saw no one do it. From Abraham to Isaac to David even to d apostles. So I keep wondering where dis notion came from.
To me Sha, I believe most of pple are jost seeking an easy way out of what their mind is already telling dem about d person. D only criteria d bible gave for choosing a spouse is dat d person must be of d same faith with u. Every other criteria is nw left for u to decide. And secondly, there is nothing like "everyone has one God-ordained wife or husband for him or her" . If dats d case, re-marrying won't av been permitted in d bible if ur spouse dies. So d bottom line of dis topic is dat we should stop putting our responsibility on God. It's ur duty to recognize if a person fits ur future plan. And ur responsibility to observe and study d person for red or green lights. Follow ur heart because most pple who claimed to av prayed before choosing never actually heard anything from God. Dey r jost deceiving themselves.

Exactly op, God can only send it opposite sex on ur path, d decision is urs to decide whether that person is ur type or ur choice.

I keep telling my friend that I don't believe in prophet telling me who to marry or not.

I make my decision cos I know me, I can be very difficult.
