Kazim88:
North does not have any power or advantage... it's just an illusion sold by the SouthWest bought by the North.
The North is highly disadvantaged... in education, health care, job and investment.
while south west has the most upper hand.
The North are actually confused... they keep hearing accusations of benefiting from one Nigeria but they are not seeing any tangible results in terms of standard of living.
All the money still find their way to the south. especially South West.
South West always welcome the Igbos yet encourage the North to chase them out..
Even Buhari Presidency created more Hunger in the North.
North biggest mistake was to believe they are on top but, and started acting as if they they own Nigeria but they are actually below and don't actually own anything.
Even the military they keep using to threatening is not theirs... and Nigeria Army can't openly get involved in tribal or regional conflict. they would be sanctioned.
North only political strategy is violence... and threats.. which is weakness, crude and would lead Northern politicians to ICC Hague.. like the case of Arewa Youths...
So if you call threaten genocide on the Igbos in the North or Buhari rolling out tanks and fighter jet as political strategy... then the North should go learn from Obasanjo... i gave you a like for a good effort even though I don't agree with you, your seeing things from the view of the the northern masses rather than from their elites. they have more states and therefore collect more money in allocations even though they contribute little, they dominate Federal jobs, the Armed Forces and political offices despite their poor education, they threaten everybody into submission with the forces. their traditional rulers live in unrivalled opulence. in the name of quota system, they can secure a university position in home town with lesser mark than you, the northern masses are too ignorant to think for themselves but would rather have those elites do their thinking for them and use the masses as killing machines. it's these elites that would never give up their powers through restructuring, people like buhari, dambazzu, Kari, the current Attorney General, the sultan and emirs etc. you should also read the speeches of their founding fathers like ahmadu bello. these men were extremely rich while their people wallow in poverty too like the current northern elites. 5 Likes |

Kazim88: A former Military Administrator of Kaduna State, Col Abubakar Dangiwa Umar, Rtd, has advised the Nigerian Government against the plan to re-arrest the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, and other agitators behind him, saying, ”It will be a tragic mistake to treat them as common criminals.” Umar gave the warning on Wednesday in a statement he signed and made available to DAILY POST.
The former governor buttressed his point by quoting Shiekh Usman Danfodio’s famous speech where he said that “One of the swiftest ways of destroying a kingdom is to give preference to one particular tribe over another, or to show favour to one group of people rather than another, and to draw near those who should be kept away and keep away those that should be drawn near.”
Umar further described the move to re-arrest Nnamdi Kanu as dangerous and politically unwise, adding that the IPOB leader is not a common criminal and should not treated as such. Umar, now Chairman, Movement for Unity & Progress, MUP, said, “Reports in the media indicate that the Federal government has asked the Federal High Court in Abuja to revoke the bail granted Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and have him rearrested.
“This is both dangerous and politically unwise. Mazi Kanu is not a common criminal as the government appears to think. On the contrary, he is a bitter young man fighting for a fairer deal for his Igbo kinsmen.
His seeming militant approach is the result of the strong arm tactics with which the Federal Government deals with him. His long incarceration before a court granted him bail testifies to this.
“Like Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, many Igbos genuinely feel marginalized since they belong to the category of those who gave Mr President only 5% of their votes and appeared to have fallen out of his favour. “President Buhari’s insistence that the unity of Nigeria is a settled issue is a nationalistic wish and is no surprise coming from a veteran of civil war fought to keep the country one.
“However, this does not take into account the mood of the nation as indicated by the growing agitations for self determination, restructuring and many other similar demands.
“If indeed the President is able to ignore and silence those agitators, it will be a case of suspended animation. All indications are that Nigeria has become so polarized that it requires a strong personality like General Buhari to sustain its fragile unity. “Needless to say that this does not bode well for the survival of the nation. “Most Nigerians are convinced of the need to maintain Nigeria’s unity, cognisant of the enormous benefits all sections drive from a large, diverse and resource rich country. “The Federation also provides a security umbrella to all the federating units which enhance their survivability and prosperity. “It is difficult to see how any of them can fare better out of the federation. But the fact that there are growing agitations for self determination, restructuring and other similar demands speak gravely of the way the federation is being governed.
“Nigeria’s unity can only be guaranteed when all its citizens feel they are getting a fair deal; when all its component parts are treated justly and equitably. When none feels oppressed.

abouzaid: it's not possible for the north to give up it's power, it can never happen, they must approach everything with brute force to maintain their hegemony. I'm just been realistic. Brute force is limited and has no place in the world of today. It didn't work with Niger Delta Avengers, It's not working with IPOB. It's an outdated approach that creates more problems for the aggressor. 6 Likes |

Now I see... I guess a common man in the south is different from a common man in the North. Because an average southerner is enlighten and a free thinker though you are right... the elite are fighting... using Arewa youths... But it is not working. Infact it is back firing.... Kaduna Declaration was a suicide declaration... it is a call for genocide.. most of those behind it would convicted.... believe me. 4 Likes |

Aegon: The best way to defeat Kanu is by winning over his followers. If you give Igbos a superior reason to believe in Nigeria then Kanu and co will just fade away. What do the Igbo want?
1 An abolition of Quota system and affirmative action currently enjoyed by the Fulani. 2 The system of privileges entrenched by quota system which has made the north docile and less competitive in the resource value chain. 3 Fair and equitable distribution of resources by nationally agreed and negotiated indices. 4 Governments sincerity in protecting the lives and property of all Nigerians regardless of place of origin, religion or political views.
I think we can start from here to renegotiate our very fragile union and stop strong arming dissenting voices in a democracy.
u are dreaming cos rather hausa fulani will do all these, then Nigeria shld break up..They belive Nigeria is theirs and everyother thing shld be a slave to them. 3 Likes |

He is leading Nigeria to destruction... by attempting Jihad war against the south...
That was his only intention and mission of wanting to be president.
We all know it but we are just avoiding the truth. Of course u are obsolutely correct the main reasons he was fighting all these years to become the president is to implement the wishes and instructions of usman Dan fodio to islamize the entire southern nigeria. 3 Likes |

zionmade1: ok They will never listen. Even kanu himself wants to be arrested now because that is the last straw to chaos all over the country. Biafra agitation will escalate to a whole new level if that guy is arrested. SE and SS will unleash hostilities on SW and North North will unleash hostilities on SE,SS and SW christians SW will want to retaliate militants will be back with destruction of oil installations Many lives will be lost The only way to balance this equation is to arrest every single person issuing threat from arewa to ipob to afenifere if any is arrested and the other is left, a chain reaction of violence will be initiated
Best advice: Leave kanu alone and focus on showing igbos reason to have hope on being nigerians Your assertions are valid to a large extent. The practice of true federalism remains the only way Nigeria can survive extinction, anything else is simply the incubation of imminent doom that will eventually be a replica of what befell the former Soviet Union which gave birth to numerous countries out of one country. 3 Likes |
