Wayne Rooney has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving, according to Sky sources.
Police in Cheshire stopped the 31-year-old, England's record goalscorer and former captain, near his home on Thursday night.
Rooney announced his international retirement last week after scoring 53 goals in 119 appearances.
The striker was on target in each of his first two Premier League appearances this season after rejoining boyhood club Everton from Manchester
Singer Neil Shaw Hulme performed at Bubble Bar last night with band Funky and played Oasis classic Wonderwall to the rowdy crowd.
He told The Sun: "There were a lot of people in there last night drinking and it was a particularly vibrant crowd.
"When we did what was going to be the last number - Mr Blue Sky - they were actually booing all the way through because they wanted Oasis so we did do Wonderwall.
"People were singing their heads off, it was actually quite funny.
"Everyone was happy when we played it."
Neil said he didn't see Rooney at the bar but admitted he wouldn't recognise him Anyways.
He then spent the night in the cells after boogying in the Bubble Room in Alderley Edge — just five miles from Wayne's £6million mansion in Prestbury.
The striker was seen partying and singing Oasis with ex-United teammate Wes Brown in the popular celeb haunt.
