The USA multinational companies and celebrity, are taking it as a fun to challenge each others. Many celebrities acepted the challenge by making their own pledge bit higher. Rumour had it that, the money pledged and donate so far is up to 20 billion dollars i. e about 7.2 trillion naira for Only some few cities in taxas. Greater amount came from the private sectors and celebrities ( can Nigerians emulate this?. what happens in lekki, rivers and benue comes to my mind) The USA celebrity took on their instagram pages to throw a challenge on who will donate more to humanity ( our Nigerian celebrities are only after Gucci competitions). Among the celebrities, kelvin hart was the first to called in the challenge. Initially, the comic called upon Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle, Jerry Seinfeld, Steve Harvey and Justin Timberlake. In a follow-up Instagram video where he upped his pledge to $50,000 from $25,000, Hart added more famous names to the list like T.I., Chris Brown and Drake. Drake responded that he had given $200,000 to the initiative started by Watt, whom the rapper described as a good friend. "The journey to rebuilding is gonna be a long one," said Drake, encouraging others to donate. Donations continue to roll in; Tyler Perry said he is donating a combined $1 million to relief efforts in a video shared on his Facebook page Thursday, Singer Edie Brickell and husband Paul Simon announced Friday their pledge to give $1 million, Watt, a defensive end for the Houston Texans, has raised over 20 million dollars, Miley Cyrus intends to donate 500000 dollar, Sandra Bullock stepped up in a big way, donating $1 million to the Red Cross on Tuesday, explaining, "We all have to do our part.", The Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation donated $1 million Hurricane Harvey: Houston Rockets donate $4 million to relief ... https://www.usatoday.com J.J.
