The only thing that keeps Nigeria together is the oil and gas in Niger delta...
In 1953 northerners threatened to secede from Nigeria because oil wasn't discovered then...
Can they threaten to leave Nigeria now?

Wrong!

It contributes only 15% of our GDP, but contributes over 90% of foreign exchange earnings.

OP like some people doesn't know the difference between foreign exchange earnings and GDP. Even agriculture accounts for a bigger percentage of our GDP than oil.

Nonsense. 97% of GDP and only 3% for all other commercial activities in the country? Only a fool would believe this. The OP obviously does not know the difference between foreign exchange earnings and GDP.
The percentage of our foreign exchange earnings through oil export is not even up to 97% at present.

Oil is the only earner for Nigeria 's government. If oil is removed all other sources in the GDP which needs some government assistance to survive will dry up and this includes Agriculture and Corruption which are by far the only functioning sectors in Nigeria economy

Just a partial cut back of oil last year by NA and the whole country went kaput. Short memories we got here
