Pls I need help, I have a land after ajah and I am trying to process the above, some says I should apply for CofO while another says its Governors consent. pls help I need ur input

someone plz shed more light on this

A Governor's consent is needed when you buy a property that has an existing C of O already issued on it i.e. if you buy a land and the land already has a C of O, you need a Governor's consent to effect a proper transfer of title.

If the land is e.g bought from an omo onile or the land is without a C of O, then you only need to apply for a C of O to be issued in respect of the land.

C of O means certificate of occupancy which gives u power and evidence of ownership, while Governor concert can be seek 4 many reasons e.g. ownership, sale, mortgage , sub-division of land, etc.
