What Nigeria needs, in order to have a sustainable currency stability, is a floating exchange rate regime where the currency price is set by the Forex market based on supply-and-demand compared with other currencies. The present fixed exchange rate regime (with the few inefficient tweaks by the CBN), in which the our government plays the significant part in determining the Naira/Dollar rate will come back to hunt this APC government. |
