5 Reasons Why University Admission In 2017 Will Be Difficult. by Ofoegbus(m): 8:01pm On Sep 08, 2017
The mode of Admission in 2017 may be different considering the current challenge we are facing in the educational sector and fluctuations in Government policies. Here are 5 reasons why university admission may be difficult this year.

Most of the universities now adopt CBT
How was the experience with JAMB CBT? I know it was filled with stories of faulty computers and slow internet connection which prevented most candidates from finishing their exams on time. Part of what contributed to most JAMB failures. This is not going to be any different from the experience you would be facing with POST UTME. Now, most universities adopt CBT which is less predicting and unstable compared to the Paper and pencil Type (PPT).
To get yourself familiar with Post UTME CBT, you can practice our online CBT by clicking on http://adovat.com/quiz/test/post-utme/

The new JAMB cutoff
JAMB now cuts 120, you heard the story, you are happy. Maybe, you should be sad. You now have to compete with more people for admission space.
But then, most universities rejects the cutoff, it could be more difficult to predict what direction JAMB is taking with the new cutoff.

High level Competitiveness
You heard it, more people registered for JAMB this year, more people passed JAMB this year and more people are going to participate in the screening.
Admission would highly competitive and would require extra effort to succeed and secure your choice of Institution/course

We are back to the era of POST UTME
Last year, JAMB did something unpredictable by scraping out Post UTME, this year we now have Post UTME restored, You can now participate in the screening exercise. Infact, right now most institution has begun their registration screening.
But, what happens to candidates who already believed that they were fit for admission based on their JAMB score and excellent WAEC results?

ASUU strike
ASUU strike will be called off soon, you believe that? I do.
Soon could be tomorrow, next week, months or even years ( At least, You heard what our president said about Ghana being on strike for 2 years). Though, we are not praying for that to happen but with the look at things and the way the Federal Government is going about the negotiation, it is possible that school activities may not resume this year preventing UTME candidates from being served admission in 2017.
