No Sir. There's no things as that. It's been a topic of discuss over time. Go check check the archives of the state and any information from the government concerning it's people. There's no trace of Igbos. If you claim 1 million igbo people in Benue, it would be recognized, the least tribe we have in Benue and it's recognized as indigenous are not up to a million, at most, half of them. In Benue South Zone as it is claimed, two just two much Tribes which together they make half the population of the whole state are the Idomas and Igede. If you see any igbo person in Benue then the are migrants whose root can still be traced back to the various places you mentioned say Ebonyi state. Go search for documents and history about the benue people, read very well. No igbo is from Benue amd Ebonyi was never Maliciously carved to make up Benue South. I stand to be corrected with better and solid Facts.

So you think there are no indigenous Igbos in Benue, many you can tell us the tribe that makes up Obi Local Government? What about Okpoku Local Government? Tell us the tribe in these two local govts. I dont even want to mention Oju local govt

Op, kudos to u for this near comprehensive list. Be reminded that some tribes in Nigeria are aready extinct. Addition of the extinct tribes could bring the figure to over 500 tribes in Nigeria

Obi and Oju are clearly IGEDE speaking local government and Okpokwu is clearly an IDOMA speaking Local Government too. Benue South has Just Idoma and Igede recognized. Check your indices well.

Are you trying to say that Chief Ifeanyi Cedrick Nweke, President of the Benue Igbos Development Union lied when he said when he told a News Reporter:

“The Igbos in Benue State particularly those in Ado, Oju, Obi and Okpoku LGAs of the state were in existence before the advent of Christian religion in Nigeria.

The Igbo found in Benue are:  Umuezeokoha, Umuezeoka, Oriuzor, Umuoghara, Amaekka and Amaezekwe all in Ezza communities, Izzi, Ezzamgbo and Effium, these are the people who would have been in present-day Ebonyi State but due for the fact that the Nigerian government then carved us into Benue in order to use our population to suppress our Eastern population. Apart from the Ezza-speaking clan, particularly the people of Umuezeokoha that has over 300 villages, if you are to calculate the number of Igbo-speaking villages, you find out that we are more than 600 villages because three of the biggest markets in our area are all in the Igbo-speaking part.

The markets are as follows: Inikiri Ichari, Iddah, Iduokpe.

”But in all these places, we have been facing a lot of deprivation of our fundamental human rights to the extent that we do not have any project attracted by the government, be it local, state or federal. In fact we have become the rejected part of the country because local government identification letters are not given to us any longer"

Are you still sure that there are ethnic Igbos indigenous to Benue?

He could surely be lying too. Who doesn't lie? Are lies not flying in the nations dailies on every day basis? Some of Those things are propaganda and there are no Indigenous Igbos. We have Igbos who have migrated to benue for business and in the time being, some were given birth here in Benue. But as the status of the state that i know, Igbos can NEVER be said to be indigenes of benue. Try to read about the history and creation of Benue. It was created From Benue Plateau. If you talk about the Igala's i would understand but not Igbos.

This list is a deception to the meaning of "tribe". With this, every kindred is a tribe.

Op, you need to cite your sources. You and I both know you didn't concoct that list by yourself from thin air. You simply copied and pasted the info from an online source, that is why the info up there isn't as accurate.

A lot of people dont know it but there are over 1 million indigenous Igbos, the Umueze Okoha people, in Benue state. People who should have been in Ebonyi state but they were maliciously carved into Benue so as to make up the population of Benue south Senatorial zone

Other states has 2 or more languages, but when u mentioned Igbo u see Anambra, IMO, Enugu, Abia and Ebonyi without mixture of other languages.

Does this speakers something to u guys?

No bad bloods shaaa.
Don't be a bigot. There are indigenous Igala groups in Anambra state. Besides, geographically, these states are relatively small in land area and they form the heartland of the Igbos. You can see that in other states where Igbo groups in large number, like Rivers and Delta, you find other groups. These states are in the periphery.
benuejosh:
He could surely be lying too. Who doesn't lie? Are lies not flying in the nations dailies on every day basis? Some of Those things are propaganda and there are no Indigenous Igbos. We have Igbos who have migrated to benue for business and in the time being, some were given birth here in Benue. But as the status of the state that i know, Igbos can NEVER be said to be indigenes of benue. Try to read about the history and creation of Benue. It was created From Benue Plateau. If you talk about the Igala's i would understand but not Igbos.
Do some research, it helps.. I had friends from Ebonyi state, (they are or the izzi, Ezza groups) and they confirmed that there are quite a large Igbo group of the same Igbo subgroup, i.e izzi, Ezza on the other side of the border in Benue state.
Also, there have been calls of marginalisation by those groups in the state. May be the link below will help you a bit

Marginalization. The same way the Igbos wanting to be a governor in Lagos? Because they're a group in Lagos? If they are complaining in states like Delta and Rivers then i will clearly understand that. But complaining of Marginalization in Benue, that will make me state the obvious. Remember Nigeria still works with "State of Origin" and Not "State Of Residence" and Igbos have no Origin in Benue.

..But in this situation, they are not visitors, that's their ancestral home, the Federal Government wrongly carved them into Benue state and that particular community have complained about it from the very beginning. Your Governor, Ortim even acknowledged and addressed them. So, who are you to tell them that they are visitors in the land of they have existed in for centuries because the federal Government carved them into another state. Listen, they are not looking for governorship and senatorial post, all they seek is government presence and things like hospital and public schools, may be a road or two, that's all.
There are indigenous Igala groups in Anambara, do you now deny them their heritage because they were carved into the state.

over 500?
what a real giga giant nation!
Re: The Full List Of All The 371 Tribes In Nigeria And States by oladeebo: 9:51am On Sep 13, 2017
op thank you very much for this enlightenment:-
it's show clearly that we Nigerian were ignorant, me myself included!
This Giga giant nation worth selling to whole world and earning billions of Dollar every month!
If preserved, exploit the cultural, custom and tradition heritage of 500 tribe or ethnic groups of this nation for national tourism, it will generate more than oil we were fight upon!
No country had such an opportunity in the world,
and those country that knows such value rented other ethnics groups around the world to increase their diversity,
here in Nigeria some believe it's the causes of our failure,
but why USA accept immigrants yearly if it's not paid?
