Re: Are You Proud Of Your Tribal Mark? by dominique(f): 7:51pm On Feb 26, 2010 |
uplawal: yeah, but ignorant ones do it though. there was this IRS teacher in my high school. he has four thick tribal across each face. those have got to be the most conspicous tribal marks i've ever seen. i still cant imagine why parents would want subject their kids to that kind facial deformity. |

Never let things around you define who you are. Never let anyone define who you are. If I had, I would be so much proud of it. Everyone have one thing or the other they carry and not proud to talk about. Even that girl that left you. She is such a child for leaving you for such a minute reason. I am so proud of me. Learn to be proud of you. Ps: dont tell me you dont have any quality to complement that tribal mark. Sure you do. Search within you! Wrex:You and I know that you just lied there. olubuffett: True. But then, it was a form of identification. Like when a Yoruba, hausa or igbo man speaks, you know where they are from. Some used the marks as a form of protection from their enemies. |

Re: Are You Proud Of Your Tribal Mark? by 0hsisi: 8:52pm On Feb 26, 2010 |
The worst of all is the Ogbomosho eleven eleven horizontal and verical marks about 10 on each cheek Very deep and very groovy as in grooves They are very very unsightly and very very ugly It automatically makes the person look wicked even before you get to know them That was my impression as a child Thank God it's now a crime to put those things on the face of a child |
Re: Are You Proud Of Your Tribal Mark? by adconline(m): 8:53pm On Feb 26, 2010 |
I'm still worried about the scars on my legs that I sustained when I was little and sometimes they come back to hurt me and you could then imagine what could have happened to me if I had some facial marks. That will be like a double strike from dangote trailer overloaded with cement. |

Re: Are You Proud Of Your Tribal Mark? by 0hsisi: 8:57pm On Feb 26, 2010 |
chamotex: Yes there are threads on that Various SW states have made it a punishable crime I wonder if it's ever been enforced but just acknowledging it as child mutilation and a punishable crime is a good start. |
Re: Are You Proud Of Your Tribal Mark? by 0hsisi: 8:59pm On Feb 26, 2010 |
FL Gators: There is nothing sexy about scars on one's face Nothing sexy at all in that It is an act done in ignorance and that's just what it is ask her if she'll rather not have them and I bet you sincerely she'll rather they weren't there. If she thought they were sexy she should have done same to you. |
Re: Are You Proud Of Your Tribal Mark? by Nobody: 8:59pm On Feb 26, 2010 |

Re: Are You Proud Of Your Tribal Mark? by chamotex(m): 9:00pm On Feb 26, 2010 |
0hsisi: My thoughts exactly . . . .the Nigerian authorities dont have the time to be enforcing rules about tribal marks They would rather be at check points to collect bribe |

Re: Are You Proud Of Your Tribal Mark? by 0hsisi: 9:04pm On Feb 26, 2010 |
FL Gators: No she looks nice despite the marks Marks and scarrings cannot look nice on anybody. The mere fact that she didn't give them to you tells me she doesn't like them I'm not in any way saying people with tribal marks are doomed God forbid Obviously your mom is not being hindered by hers and that's what it ought to be |
Re: Are You Proud Of Your Tribal Mark? by chic2pimp(m): 9:09pm On Feb 26, 2010 |
I don't have one |
Re: Are You Proud Of Your Tribal Mark? by Nobody: 9:10pm On Feb 26, 2010 |
I don't have any tribal marks, but if I did, I would hate them, not be proud of them at all. And I would have had plastic surgery to remove them. I see it as mutilation, no way would I subject my children to ruined faces. |
Re: Are You Proud Of Your Tribal Mark? by ChinenyeN(m): 9:14pm On Feb 26, 2010 |
Oto Nde Owe Nde. The way many people seem to feel about tribal markings is the same way many people seem to feel about tattoos but that hasn't changed anything. There are some who are deeply in love with tattoos. Likewise, there could be some who love tribal markings. Some find it disgusting. Some don't. No amount of debating changes sentiment. By the way, there's really not much difference between tattoos and tribal markings. |
Re: Are You Proud Of Your Tribal Mark? by Eaglebabe: 9:20pm On Feb 26, 2010 |
Tribal mark kwa,how can u be proud of that? |
Re: Are You Proud Of Your Tribal Mark? by asha80(m): 9:26pm On Feb 26, 2010 |
ChinenyeN: The difference is that when people get a tatoo to their body they are well aware of what they are doing since they are adults but in the case pf tribal marks they are usually kids or infants that have no say of what is happening to them. |
Re: Are You Proud Of Your Tribal Mark? by 0hsisi: 9:36pm On Feb 26, 2010 |
asha 80: Thank you People have a choice when they decide to get tatoos Children don't ask to get scarred on their faces |

Re: Are You Proud Of Your Tribal Mark? by ChinenyeN(m): 9:40pm On Feb 26, 2010 |
People also give children tattoos; much like how children receive tribal markings. Also, tribal marks are not a thing of "usually kids or infants". Youth and adults also get tribal marks (more especially in the past due to [now eradicated/eradicating] culture). So, there's still not much of a difference between the two. |
