What was the craziest thing you did out of faith? Mine was praying for my malaria to go away without taking drugs. I told my mum about it and immediately, the house was on fire grin mind you my mum is a christian who doesn't know the bible. I later took my medicine for peace to reign. It didn't take long before I became an atheist. grin grin

When I look back at that event, I count myself lucky. So atheists over to you. Even if you were not a christian but a muslim, you can contribute.

For me... I paid ten percent of my little income and actually talked to myself every night with the full belief that I was actually talking to God.

I'm not an atheist though, but being mentioned and being an ex-christian, I'll share mine. It was about praying 'die by fire' against my aunt whom I supposed was a witch. While I pray, I always see her in my dreams. Then one day within that dream, an old woman whom everybody around my neighborhood also call a witch appeared to me and said, why are you disturbing your Uncle's wife with your prayers? I felt high and on top of the world when I awoke. I thought my prayer was working and her fellow witch had just testified to it in that dream. During that period, my problems worsened and within a twinkling of an eye I ported and broke free. And within two weeks, what I was praying to get without getting it came to me free of charge when I stopped the goddamn witchy prayers.

That is my testimony of my ignorance while I was still a gullible sheeple.

I believed there was a god and I prayed thinking there was someone actually listening and would do something about it

I paid tithes and offering

I once went and "gave my life to Christ" in front of the church

I believed what was in the bible was true(even though it didn't last long)

I was such an idiot sad

chastity and i'd go to church as early as 5am in the morning, on saturdays i'd go home as late as 8 - 10pm. I literally live in the church, went to the seminary [had crazy thoughts of being a catholic priest] though i like that i went to the seminary, it reformed me.

I lived with a priest for years, never fasted though i had a slim figure so i no fit fast join my lepkanes.

said 20 decades of rosary almost everyday, i still like that prayer though, it's meditative and profound. I don't appreciate the banging and shouting of new age unorthodox pentecostal christianity.

And i'd récite the prayers of the angel of fatima every day

"My God i believe, i adore, i love. And i ask your pardon for those who do not believe, who do not adore or do not love"

Faith is an unreliable method of developing beliefs. Pushing it aside has allowed base my beliefs on empirical evidence.

I am now more skeptical towards everything in life.

Talking to my self thinking I was talking to someone.

Prayed for some relatives to be healed but it didn't work. Then I truly believed I could perform magic because I believed in Jesus.

One which I regret was believing my grandma was a witch. A pastor told my mum and dad that my grandma was a witch angry. This led to a quarrel between my parents and my grandma (whom my parents asked to leave the house and go back to the village) cry cry. I still remember how heartbroken my grandma was when parking her stuff out of the house. cry cry cry cry cry

Right now, she has diabetes and is suffering from leg pain. She is in the village. My uncle thinks she is a witch and doesn't even near her. Grandma, I love you cry

I get your point but there is a verse in bible that says we should be wise like serpent but be harmless as dove. I think God also wants us to approach our daily activities intelligently.
