In recent times, there have been misunderstandings between churches and instrumentalists over payment of wages/salaries, as some instrumentalists readily leave their home churches for churches with the highest bid.
To discuss this issue, Independent Sunday sought the views of some instrumentalists, musicians, cleric etc. A large number of Christians feel services in churches should be freely rendered without expecting in return any reward from man while some believe it would not be out of place to have churches appreciate their instrumentalists even their choirs whether in cash or kind.
