Wayne Rooney was yesterday banned from driving for two years after he pleaded guilty to being almost three times over the limit while driving a motor vehicle and carrying a female passenger.

He was spotted in the passenger seat of a Range Rover as he arrived Everton’s Finch Farm for training this morning.

The former England captain issued an apology yesterday after he was given a two-year ban for being almost three times the drink-drive limit when he was stopped at the wheel of a car with a Laura Simpson, a woman he had just met in a nightclub.

Wayne Rooney’s two-year drink-drive ban could end up costing him nearly £500,000.

The striker was fined two weeks’ wages – totalling £320,000 – by Everton for the offence – the former England skipper was also given a 12-month community order and 100 hours community service at court on Monday.

This excludes the bill of up to £120,000 that having a chauffeur drive him to and from Everton’s training ground will cost him.

He would not be able to sustain this. Before I got my licence, someone had to sit beside me for me to drive anywhere. Very frustrating period.
The problem is he can't quickly pop out to get anything or can't have any "me" time again for 2 years....He can't survive it.
