Nigeria's President, Muhammadu Buhari addressed world leaders at the United Nations General Assembly, UNGA today 19th Sept and in his address, President Buhari emphasized on the need to fight corruption both locally and internationally, he also highlighted efforts being made by Nigeria in providing relief, humanitarian assistance to millions afflicted by terrorism, drought, floods in Nigeria.

Part of his speech was posted on the President’s official twitter handle and it reads:

"Frontiers of good governance, democracy, rule of law are expanding everywhere, especially in Africa.

"Individual national efforts are helping strengthen State institutions, promote accountability, and combat corruption.

"We shall also cooperate in addressing growing transnational crimes: forced labour,slavery, human trafficking, cybercrime

"We must collectively devise strategies to stop fleeing ISIS fighters from mutating and infiltrating into Sahel and Lake Chad Basin

"UN has responsibility to cooperate strongly with regional organisations such as African Union,in conflict prevention and management.”
