■As Jonathan seeks amendment to Money Laundering Act

The government of the United Kingdom (UK) is said to be making fresh plans to have former governor of Delta State, Chief James Ibori, sent to the UK for trial.

Some associates of the former governor are currently undergoing trial in the UK over alleged money laundering charges.

Though the former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Chief Mike Aondoakaa, had rejected moves to have the former governor extradited to the UK on the grounds that he was already facing charges in Nigeria, sources close to the government told the Nigerian Tribune that some officials of the UK government, who met behind closed doors with Acting President Goodluck Jonathan, had broached the idea.

British Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, had, in a special congratulatory message to Jonathan on Sunday, asked the acting president to concentrate more on the fight against corruption.

No offence, but do this guy Annodoaakaa or whatever his name is actually know anything about law? Sure he may be facing charges in Nigeria, but he committed another crime in the UK - money laundering - he should STILL face charges for that, abi I no dey understand something?

The wind go soon blow, and everybody go see fowl yansh!

I'm glad Anodoakaa is not in any position to disturb any plan in place for the extradition and trial of Ibori.
A successful trial will be another big plus on Jonathan's administration

olodoakaa himself should be arrested and prosecuted for obstruction of justice and treason from his recent role in the Nigerian political impasse.
