Facebook appears to be giving one of its subsidiary companies, WhatsApp, easy access to Facebook users through the app.
A new WhatsApp button has appeared in the Facebook app that allows users to easily click, automatically transferring them to the WhatsApp app without the need to exit Facebook.
Hardly the most revolutionary button in the world, but incredibly similar to the Facebook messenger button that transfers you to that app.
The button has only popped up on Android devices so far and appears in the home menu where people can click on their own profile.
If you are one of the lucky few who it has been released to it should be right under your name in the menu section.

Even if you have an Android you may not be able to see it yet, as the button is only being tested and is not officially released.
Facebook users on iOS devices may be able to use the button very soon.
Earlier this month Facebook were caught out when they were testing an Instagram button on their app.
The shortcut would be to Facebook’s other subsidiary company, Instagram’s app.

This is not the first time Facebook have toyed with having a direct link between Facebook and WhatsApp as in 2015 they experimented with a WhatsApp send button that allowed Facebook users to share photos and posts with their WhatsApp contacts.
Facebook bought WhatsApp in 2014 for $19 billion (£14.65 billion) and since then it has used the messenger service to test out a lot of its own ideas and make it seem more like Instagram and Facebook.
Facebook bought Instagram in 2012 for $1 billion (£740 million) and they brought in Instagram Stories, reminiscent of Snapchat stories, which they later brought to WhatsApp and then Facebook.
We know where Facebook’s loyalties lie , but could the WhatsApp button spell the end for Facebook messenger? Please say ‘yes’ Facebook.
