A lot of things have gone wrong over the years;
The people now living in penury and fear,
Forgetting that to them belong the power,
They see their public servants and they cower.

They say the men in black ought to be your friends,
But a stint with 'em may just be your end,
Especially if stopped and particulars, okay,
But arguing with a drunk one armed with an AK.

Every four years, we gather for an election,
Which should probably be called a selection,
Cos the lower your ability to displease godfathers,
The higher the number of votes you'll gather.

Our God of men no longer preach about heaven,
Frolicking only in Gulfstreams and 747s;
Never failing to remind us of offerings and tithes,
Leaving the Government out on our plights.

At the tunnel's end, there may be light,
But the street folks still see no hope in sight,
They have no option than to resort to fate,
Hoping it gets better for the Nigerian state.
