Job Description
Offshore Maintenance technician- Instrumentation

Purpose
To safely and efficiently maintain all SPDC facilities operational plant and equipment, including the FPSOs and drilling platforms, to satisfy the technical integrity targets and ensure equipment is operated within design limits.
To supervise the relevant discipline technicians to achieve set targets.
To participate in the SPDC competence Assurance Scheme and achieve pre-determined competence levels.
Networks with
Senior Instrument Technician, Offshore Maintenance Supervisor, Maintenance Planners, Operations Team, Logistics and Warehouse, Capability Management Team, OEM Vendor Representatives.

Accountabilities
• Comply with safe work practices and procedures and participate to ensure a safe working environment
• Carry out emergency role (if required) as defined by Emergency Response Plan
• Maintain work history and input to the maintenance management system
• Execute scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks in accordance with the weekly, 14-day and 28-day plans
• Provide updated and technical information for all maintained plant and equipment
• Participate in toolbox talks and regular safety meetings
• Provide dedicated support to the Operations Department during startup and shutdown of the plant
• Ensure safe and efficient maintenance operations at all times

Dimensions
Supports the following operations:
• FPSOs: 1
• Offshore platforms etc: 4
• Topside wells tied back to FPSO: 19
• Power generation: 5 x 10MW Solar turbines
(plus standby diesel generators)
• Production availability target: > 90%
• Support boats: 4


Special Challenges
• To contribute to the maintenance of one of the largest FPSO’s in the world in line with tight budgetary control and minimum manning principles.
• The FPSO’s and their associated facilities represent a step change in technical complexity as well as introducing a number of new technical processes not currently deployed in the Company
• The FPSOs have been designed with high intrinsic reliability machinery working relatively straightforward production processes. With little spare equipment, the challenge will be to raise the facility uptime to its design limits and keep it there
• Proving competency using the VQ Competence Framework will be as crucial as understanding the impact that maintenance has on personnel, as defined in the Safety Case


Competence Requirement
Technical Competencies
1.Must possess knowledge of Process and Field engineering
2.Must demonstrate understanding of A71-Operate wells and facilities and A72-Maintain wells and facilities
3.Must be skilled reading and interpreting instrument drawings, wiring diagrams and schematics
4.Must demonstrate understanding of Asset integrity/verification and Integrated planning
5.Must possess knowledge of Safety Practices common to the petro-chemical
industry

HSE Competencies
Must possess knowledge of Offshore safety procedures and permit to work systems
Must demonstrate knowledge of Emergency Response as well as Health, Safety and Environmental hazards.



Experience and Qualification Required
1.ONC/OND level or equivalent qualifications in instrument or multi-disciplinary engineering and trade certification are essential.
2.Ability to diagnose equipment malfunctions and failures, report the effects of failures, and assist to provide solutions to remedy the problems.
3.Knowledge of oil separation and gas compression processes.
4.Must be capable of carrying out remedial and routine maintenance associated with petroleum processing plant and equipment.
5. Must be able to carry out remedial and routine maintenance associated with pressure transmitters, transducers and gauges, plant DCS systems, instrument control equipment associated with HVAC systems and hazardous area equipment.
