Permit me to say. The verse you quote is not a ticket to continue in sin. Rather an encouragement, to make a decision to love God so much. That nothing can separate you or stop you from loving Him. Be it tribulation, persecution, etc including necessities, infirmities, reproach. If I may add that too.

I enjoyed reading your piece. Even though most christians will argue some issues in the post, I picked some points. Most churches spend time preaching the damnation of hell and not the beauty of heaven. They both point in same direction ; Salvation. But how you approach it matters a lot. That's the reason we have very toxic christians today. People who live in fear and always think someone is after them and everyone a suspect. Its as a result of the messages they hear everysunday. The church shld preach salvation from the stand point of the beauty of heaven.

Nice write up. In addition, whosoever is born of God does not commit sin... 1 John 3:9.
That's not to say we're all perfect... We all sin, but as long as it's not intentional, then running back to God genuinely will gain us forgiveness.
But if we intentionally commit sin, and we go meet Papa with intention to sin again, He sees our hearts... Knows our thoughts.... We'll be blocking the Holy Spirit from helping us.
I used to smoke. I tried to quit, e no happen. I always went back... Born again and all o. But still dey smoke cigga.
Until one day, I invited Jesus to help me. Just like that, this is over 10months now without cigarette. I didn't even have any withdrawal symptoms for one day.

Na every time you just dey disturb me with forgiveness prayer after I don wipe am tey tey  " ...than NOT ask because I assumed my salvation is once and for all and then get to heaven and find out say my name no dey book of Life cos of one tiny sin wey I commit(God forbid) . What has common sense got to do with this? Must you leave a harsh comment? Yes the way is narrow... But with the help of the Holy Spirit, God's nature becomes our nature because we are born of God. So it becomes easy to shun evil. Temptation and trials will come but we cling to God cos he is our life! Deut 30:20The narrow gate can be interpreted to mean the 'unpopular route'. Now understand this...in the past before Jesus paid the price by sacrificing his life as atonement for the sins of the world (once and for all)..God commands that people sacrifice bulls,lambs each year to clear their sins and he will remember them no more... Does common sense not tell us that GOD knew man can not live a totally sinless life? Believe it or not,no true believer takes GOD for granted...I know if I fornicate everyday and ask GOD for forgiveness he will...but I will only be taking him for granted (which of course no true believer will do). Young believers face serious challenges as they still struggle with some sins in their lives and most of them at that fragile stage give up on themselves and totally embrace sins thereby getting lost forever ....this piece is for them. Yes the way is narrow... But with the help of the Holy Spirit, God's nature becomes our nature because we are born of God. So it becomes easy to shun evil. Temptation and trials will come but we cling to God cos he is our life! Deut 30:20
The narrow gate can be interpreted to mean the 'unpopular route'. The world sees fornication as normal, but cos we are on the narrow path, we know what it is, and abstain.
Jesus said His yoke is easy, and burden light. So pls stop seeing the godly life as hardship.
Nothing good comes easy. Jesus already did the hard part. He paid the price. He suffered and died.
Our part is to cling to him. How hard can that be? Na wa for you o oga.
There's nothing harsh about my comment. I only quote a well known natural law and a well known scripture. Maybe the truth is sounding bitter to your ears. When Jesus made the statement that wide is the way to destruction(hell) and many will go into it... Didn't he remember that the Holy spirit will come to help us? By the way, do you think it is everyone that get the Holy spirit? Jesus himself gave us the conditions for salvation, and if you check it carefully, you'll see that those conditions are not easy to meet in this evil world. So when he gave us tough conditions for making heaven, didn't he remember that he'll die for our sins? How can you think that we don't have much to do again for salvation because Jesus died for us? Even though God forgives sins, you don't consistently live a life of sin and expect to make heaven. If you don't know the conditions for heaven, quote me and I'll show you where to read it in the Bible. |

I used to smoke. I tried to quit, e no happen. I always went back... Born again and all o. But still dey smoke cigga.
Until one day, I invited Jesus to help me. Just like that, this is over 10months now without cigarette. I didn't even have any withdrawal symptoms for one day.
God is real. His Spirit is real. This is exactly the message...You invited the Holy spirit (Still Jesus)...do you know that many people would have given up their salvation at that point you were still struggling with it? I decree that the holy spirit will energize you more to abstain from not just nicotine but from every other sins that easily beseech you and me in Jesus name...AMEN. |

is possible to abuse grace when you have the Spirit of God in you; I make mistakes sometimes though but my conscience(by the help of the holyspirit) will not give me peace until I settle it with God in place of prayer; ....this has been my experience ; I don't think a Christian with the Holy Spirit can be comfortable in Sin; there is no point preaching to scare them with all this holier than thou preaching....what makes us righteousness is not our work but faith in the righteousness in Christ Jesus Bravo. I have never seen a true holy spirit filled believer feeling comfy in sins... |

I keep on telling people, God won't send someone to hell cos of trouser, hair extension and make ups. That's my own understanding of the word of God. Tell them about the love of God, also remind them about heaven and hell too. Don't scare people away with hell Exactly. |

Lol!..on the contrary,making heaven is ridiculously easy if only you catch the revelation.
Now understand this...in the past before Jesus paid the price by sacrificing his life as atonement for the sins of the world (once and for all)..God commands that people sacrifice bulls,lambs each year to clear their sins and he will remember them no more...
Does common sense not tell us that GOD knew man can not live a totally sinless life?
Believe it or not,no true believer takes GOD for granted...I know if I fornicate everyday and ask GOD for forgiveness he will...but I will only be taking him for granted (which of course no true believer will do).
Young believers face serious challenges as they still struggle with some sins in their lives and most of them at that fragile stage give up on themselves and totally embrace sins thereby getting lost forever ....this piece is for them.
If you truly have the spirit of GOD YOU WILL STRUGGLE TO SIN.....YES you read right....the spirit of GOD in me makes it hard for me to sin and I did not get to this stage overnight, I have had times when I felt like giving up but today the spirit of GOD in me has taken me to a level of confidence in christ Jesus.
But despite all,I still fall into sins even when I don't like it,I do not crave for sins, I don't sin with impunity neither do I enjoy it..
The sermon of doom and gloom has sent many to hell and this must stop.
Once you are born again,invite the holy spirit of God to perfect your salvation but don't ever give up on yourself till death cos God will never give up on you.
This is the simple message behind this write up. I think I get your message now, but no matter how easy making heaven might seem to you, the truth is that majority in this world will not still make it. God knows too well that living a sinless life is not easy for us that's why he gave us laws. Even though the death of Jesus has nullify certain laws like rituals and sacrifices to clear our sins, yet the Ultimate Law of God to mankind (The ten commandments) is still valid and very important for us to keep. Breaking them constantly and getting forgiveness doesn't work. If you fornicate every day and ask God to forgive you, he might forgive but if you commit adultery every day you can't be forgiven just like that. Though it's not easy but it is possible to live a perfect and Holy life in this world. People we heard in the Bible did that in this world. So don't make it look like it's not possible. Don't discourage those who tries to live a Holy life. God himself wants us to be Holy. |

Hope you know you're on ur way to that hell (the place of eternal suffering). Guess why? Cos you're deliberately twisting God's word to make people comfortable in their sin. Who told you to liberate man from his conscience. So a man commits sin and feels guilty, he comes to this thread and read your advise that he shouldn't feel so. He should just ask the holy spirit for help. He smiles and loosed the remorse for his sins. Who do you think you're helping with this error. My sympathy is with those who will read your post and believe it to be true.
My friend, you had better repent immediately cos God's judgement is coming It is most likely the OP is a member of Christ Embassy. That is their doctrine. They don't preach holiness. Have you heard any sermon of their pastor that condemns or rebukes sin? |
