Klopp has been dealt a huge blow with the news that Sadio Mane is out for six weeks. Mane will miss this weekend's match as well as a big clash against Tottenham, and is a doubt to face Chelsea on November 25.

Roberto Firmino was left out against the Magpies, but will likely start against United.

Midfielder Adam Lallana (thigh) is running outside again but is still several weeks from a comeback while right-back Nathaniel Clyne is also recovering well from a back injury.

Mourinho is still set to be without Paul Pogba after confirming that he thinks of the midfielder as a "long-term" injury problem, while Marouane Fellaini will also miss out after damaging his knee ligaments on international duty for Belgium.

Michael Carrick is out in a further midfield setback, but Romelu Lukaku has recovered.

With United lacking the height of Fellaini and Pogba, Mourinho could be tempted to play a three-man defence, bring Ander Herrera into midfield for added security before throwing on the likes of Anthony Martial to make an impact in the second half.

Liverpool

Sadio Mane is out for six weeks with a hamstring injury sustained during the international break, providing Liverpool with a huge blow.

Dejan Lovren continues to struggle with injury and remains a doubt for the home side here, with Ragnar Klavan on standby to step in and partner Joel Matip at the back.

With Adam Lallana, Adam Bogan and Nathaniel Clyne all still injured for the home side, few changes are expected to Jurgen Klopp's usual starting XI.

Joe Gomez and Trent Alexander-Arnold are in competition to start at right-back with Clyne still sidelined.



Manchester United

Marouane Fellaini picked up a knee injury during the international break and will be sidelined for three weeks. With Paul Pogba still out with a hamstring injury and Michael Carrick also sidelined, Jose Mourinho is short of options in central midfield.

Romelu Lukaku played through the pain in Manchester United's 4-0 win over Crystal Palace but was declared fit to play during the international break and came off the bench against Cyprus. He will start here.


Injury forced Phil Jones to withdraw from the England squad at the start of the international break and he remains a doubt for the away side this Saturday, while Marcos Rojo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are long-term absentees.

Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford continue to battle for a starting berth on the left, with the latter expected to get the nod.

Ashley Young has started at left-back in Manchester United's last three Premier League games and will need to be at his best to keep tabs on Liverpool star Mohamed Salah, fresh from his heroics with Egypt.

Romelu Lukaku already has seven Premier League goals this season so it will be up to Dejan Lovren to keep the Manchester United forward quiet on Saturday.


Coutinho v Matic

Philippe Coutinho is most dangerous when occupying the space between midfield and attack but the Liverpool playmaker is likely to have Nemanja Matic for company at Anfield on Saturday.
