The University of Chichester was formerly a school formed by Otter Williams for training masters in 1839. However, between the 1995 and 1999, the training institution began to be known as Chichester Institute of Higher Education as opposed to its former name of Bishop Otter College.

It finally gained the degree awarding power and was formally recognized as a university in 2005 as a University of ChiChester.

The University of Chichester is a relatively small institution, but despite this it offers a wide range of subjects both for undergraduate and postgraduate programs.

The University’s main campus also has accessible motorway routes to larger cities such as portsmouth, Brighton and Worthington which are all around it.

The University’s smaller campus is used mainly for academic study and includes both business and learning resource centres.
