I remember when Independence Day used to be colourful; with parades at Eagle Square and fly past by the Air Force. Niger Delta militants attacked people at Eagle Square and forced Jonathan to observe quarter parade in Aso Rock instead. Now health challenges have forced PMB to further reduce the pageantry associated with the celebration. Even most the states are no longer observing colourful celebrations. How can we get things back to normal?

do we really have the funds to waste on such celebration now when most Nigerians are try to just feed 3 times daily.

Those days were wasteful years when some people pocketed billions in the name of independence celebrations and that is why we are in all this mess.
