Overtime car manufacturers figured that the materials used in cars like the body, and wheels also contributed to it's weight thereby reducing speed and they came up with more rubber toys called toyotas and Honda's...long story short...olden days cars were very strong and durable compared to the your we have today... excluding benz tho, they still found a way to maintain quality and quantity |

WrathOfHadez: The OP's term (past 57 years) precludes the idea that the vehicle must have been in use by Nigerians for 57 years. Rather, it is a reflection of vehicles that graced our roads during the formative years of our nation, sort of "old school" if you get the drift. The Mercedes in question was heavily in use througout the late 70s till even now. How old was Nigeria in 1978...about leaving her teens. |

Wawoo! No 2 was my father's favorite till he died. He cherished no other..Twas the sedan...had power steering, leather seats, air condition...he called it the 'Peugeot 505 American Spec'..He preferred it to his other cars..the toyotas, and a Dodge..Dad, continue to rest in the bosom of the Lord. I miss you...nice one op. |

Re: Nigeria At 57: These Cars Have Rocked Nigerian Roads For The Past 57 Years by AutoReportNG: 12:27pm On Oct 02, 2017 |
WrathOfHadez: Well noted Sir.. But I think you need to understand that the objective is not about the models... The objective of this article is looking at the types of cars Nigerians have used and those cars that are in vogue then.. Car companies are very difficult to come by especially when it comes to releasing statistics and data.... I know what I have gone through so far and I won't want to talk about it.... The objective is well stated and not the car companies. Thanks for your observation and thanks for correcting us. Happy holidays |
