Learn more about the supernatural life

Ministering in Power

The kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.
1 Corinthians 4:20

The lifestyle of the Kingdom is supernatural, nothing notable can be achieved without the power of the Spirit, a divine enablement. Anything ventured into without been enabled ends in futility. You desire to stir a change?, It takes a divine enabling to do so.
Newton first law of motion states;
'A body will continue in it's state of rest or in a uniform motion, except acted upon by a force'.
Certain parallels exist in the physical that explains the supernatural. An example is the Newton first law of motion - The law of inertia. There is no impact except there is an application of force, and it requires power to apply force. In other words, no power, no force and no force, no impact. According to proportionality, no power, no impact. So you can't make impact without power, which is a supernatural substance.

The word ministering does not only apply to pastors or clergymen but also to the laity. Every believer is a minister. To minister means to serve. Whatever capacity you find yourself serving, don't do it normal. You don't need to be a preacher to make impact.

If anyman speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God; if anyman minister, let him do it as of the ability which God gives.
1 Peter 4:11a

The emphasis here is ANYMAN. Even if you're a housewife, your food can conduct healing power. Just because you served someone water can bring the person under convicting power or release the HolySpirit baptism on such. As an usher, your handshake, welcoming someone to church can cast out devils. That's how we ought to serve, with power!.
The power of God is not in how much you sweat and jump. It's not in the 'show-up' but in the substance.
In Luke 4:32-37 where we took our text the last time, with all their regalia, the priests of the synagogue could not cast a demon out. When Jesus showed up with a charged atmosphere of power, the demon began to react. What else do we see in that scripture that steered such a reaction?

The Word factor

..For His word was with power
Luke 4:32b

Where there is correct word, there must be power!. Authority and power accompanies the anointed word of God. Jesus taught and preached the word of God as one with authority, He came with a strange doctrine. It was not the normal sermon they use to hear. The Bible said they were astonished because this one was different. This one carried life. Your message can't deliver from satanic operation and oppression until it carries life. Our message must be born out of the very heart of God, declared from the very throne room of God. This happens only on the platform of a correct and constant fellowship with the HolySpirit. Ministers of God must always be current with heaven. It is important we know what God is saying at a particular time and season. Scriptures must be a lifestyle for us rather than just something we refer to when we have to preach a message.
He spoke the word with power, the demon could not stand it. All this while, the word been preached in the synagogue had been without power until Jesus showed up. It is the word that delivers. Not just the word, but the word the Lord Himself sends, the word the Lord Himself anoints. It must be the Lord's word for it to have impact. Isaiah 55:11
All this while, we've been preaching our own message, no wonder there is no effect. We have been delivering our own sermon, no wonder demons are comfortable. It is time we deliver His message and observe the difference. The word is spirit and life and wherever that word is expressed liberty is guaranteed!.

The complacency syndrome

And Jesus rebuked him, saying, hold thy peace , and come out of him.
Luke 4:35a

Our problem as believers is that we are too comfortable with abnormalities. We have accepted oppression and corruption as a normal way of life. When Jesus came to the scene, He understood that it was not normal for a man to be in the synagogue and a demon will live in him. Jesus rebuked the devil!. It takes anger to do that. It takes a man who is not comfortable with the situation on ground to carry out such action. To rebuke is to express disapproval. I can't be here and this is happening!. For the Chief priests and Pharisees it was a normal way of life. But for Jesus, it was an aberration from the will of God. It is not accepted!. What can survive around you?.
We need to place the devil where he rightly belongs and put him there - out of the people of God!. And it will take power, a supernatural substance to do so!.
