The function of the OBD2 scanning tool is to tell you what the exact problem is as against having to hazard a guess which could be dangerous.

These tools have the "clear codes" feature, but of what use is clearing a code when the underlying problem is still there. Clearing the codes will not keep the error light off permanently. Sooner or later, the codes will reset and the light will be back on UNLESS the problem(s) that caused the code(s) to set in the first place has or have been diagnosed and repaired.

Can it see fault on gear? I own one obd2 the small one with cord. It doesn't see some fault but if my rewire guy use his own it will show more faults and his own is laptop.
