Access to credit Easy set up process for businesses Cheap labor/man power availability Tax waivers Available market for various commodities Agriculture loans and credit facilities Opportunities to invest Real estate 2 Likes |

Stocks, shares, real estate investments yield excellent returns in the UK as well, and in my own honest opinion and experience, the returns are much better than that obtainable in Nigeria. The only challenge is choosing the right investment for your risk threshold, but getting the initial capital isn't really a problem as most hardworking Nigerian immigrants have savings anyway. I will recommend 'Petrofac' shares if anyone is looking for where to park £30,000-£50,000. It's currently one of the most volatile shares in the market ever since the SFO commenced investigation on its dealings, but the volatility is an opportunity to make quick weekly/monthly returns. This share was 410p just a week ago, it currently sits at 440p. Anyone who traded this with £50,000 last week will be looking at a few grand pure cash profit to play around with within 7 days. If you have a medium term view and can wait, this share will be 700p in the next 2-3 years. Personally, I have been invested in them for a while, and I traded them many times previously. It's a volatile share that has been oscillating between 390p-480p for months. There are several shares like this, it's just a matter of doing your research and conducting due diligence on them. Caveat Emptor! On the issue of real estate investment, there are many desolate low-cost properties in the North of England that can be bought cheaply, improved upon and given out for rental income. The rental income will offset the mortgage and also give you a decent income. If you are business savvy, the rental income will offset not only the mortgage of the properties given out for rent, but also your own property you live in. You can buy these properties with cash if you have savings or get a great mortgage deal from the banks. This is why I spoke earlier about the importance of maintaining a healthy credit rating, Landlord mortgages are not given to every John Doe. I can't speak for investments in London and the south as I don't live there, maybe people who live in London can recommend low-risk investments Nigerian immigrants can indulge in. What we all agree on though is that we are in the UK to make money, live a better life and provide the best opportunities for our future kids. We are not in the UK to admire 'Mama Charlie' face, and if you don't know who 'Mama Charlie' is, go and ask Prince Charles the name his mum said Nigerian-Briticos should call her! 17 Likes 2 Shares |

claremont: I don't understand shares trading atall, I have tried my hardest but just can't get me head around it. However, real estate is my thing. But not sure I will but money on any property in uk at the moment as the market is unpredictable due to this Brexit wahala . Housing booms due to population increase, leaving the EU means the uk is no longer a desirable place for EU migrants, Eu nurses have already started boycotting the uk. And the uk has tightened the rules on other migrants coming here make it the most unattractive for potential settlers. Bearing this in mind, is real estate still a viable investment in the UK?? 2 Likes 2 Shares |

Pidgin2: Access to Credit - Liar! Except you are talking about LAPO, SEAP and other microfinance that will give you 30k at exhorbitant interest rate. Easy setup of business You will still need to register your company and pay taxes even if your company can barely survive. Unless you are referring to roadside business. Cheap Labor? Are you for real? Blame unemployment. My last driver was a graduate. I paid him 30k. Tax waivers? Who pays the tax anyways? If you know someone in FIRS, you get your clearances, no sweats Available Market? Which market? Even people still make money selling food in Syria Agricultural loans? After being tricked to open a saving account with a bank, nothing was gotten. Only people that are ready to go through backdoors get these so-called loans. Opportunity to invest? I laff hard when I hear this. Like it's supposed to be some luxury. Real estate? Where? Chibok? Did you know some people had to sell their property in Ikorodu for a cheap price? Real estate is investment, why are you repeating yourself? 12 Likes |

justwise: You are very correct here. Trust is a very serious issue when you are trying to invest in Nigeria. One thing I always advice people who want to incest in the west is to look into Franchising. Buying a franchise will save a lot of stress and marketing because you are buying into an already existing brand. Also, there are a lot of cheap franchises to buy but people don't know. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Pidgin2: Please madam what access to credit are you talking about. As someone that worked in a bank in Nigeria before relocating, I can tell you you don't know what you are talking about. Can a tailor or a mechanic in Nigeria get access to credit? Banks in Nigeria don't just throw credit like its coffetti thrown at a wedding, only the big business people get access to credit in Nigeria. I don't know what you do for a living in Nigeria or maybe you have the information I don't have but on this case I beg to differ. 13 Likes |

Pidgin2: Easy access to credit means that the credit should be affordable. What is affordable about 32% to 40% interest rate? That means for every money you borrow, one-third of the same amount will go as interest. That's what Microfinance banks are charging. 12 Likes |
