Tissue of lies put together by Ojukwu to defend the murder of Banjo, Ifeajuna and even Nzeogwu. Ojukwu hated all the brilliant guys that saw through his folly and incompetence. He either killed them or imprisoned the once he couldn’t find a good excuse to kill. Hillary Njoku was the best military tactician of that era. Military strategist on the federal side like Adekunle and Alabi-Isama were scared of facing him. Ojukwu out of his insecurity locked him and many other brilliant officers up throughout the war. 5 Likes 1 Share |

Ojukwu always behave like cowards like most of his brothers. Why killed people based on suspicion? The idiot later ran away to Ivory Coast. Years later Nnamdi Kanu followed the same route. Never trust them for anything. 3 Likes |

seunmsg: Hilary Njoku was only a handfull of folks who refused to be swayed by Ojkuwu's emotional outburst by reminding him of the futulity of going to war against the federal govt. All the ibos who were opposed to the war, Ojukwu omitted to invite to the charade he termed a referendum to determine the fate of ibos in the new country. Consequently, all those handpicked by Ojukwu for the villagesquare meeting chanted "Ojukwu give us guns" thereby mandating him to go to war. Any other dissenting voices were either locked up or dubbed "saboteurs" and done away with 2 Likes 1 Share |

T9ksy: You dont know what you are talking about. Ojukwu did not go to war, war came to Ojukwu. I have read Hillary Njoku's book 'Tragedy without heroes'. The problem Hillary Njoku had with Ojukwu was more of seniority. Njoku was senior to Ojikwu and never got over the fact that by the declaration of Biafra, Ojukwu had become senior to him. Both men clashed on issues such as the preparation for the looming war amongst other things and Ojukwu had no choice but to fire him and place him in detention for the duration of the war because of the fear that Njoku might defect to the Nigerian side. It should be noted that the only reason Nigeria won the war was due to the fact that British ships blockaded Biafra and Russian planes dominated the sky. Had Britain and Russia stated neutral, there no way Nigeria would have won. Nigeria wouldn't even have had the money to fight a war 3 Likes 1 Share |

It should be noted that Victor Banjo, Emmanuel Ifeajuna, Mr Alale and Mr Agbam were all tried and executed for plotting to overthrow Ojukwu |

gidgiddy: Njoku's major clash with Ojukwu was the façt that he knew biafra was not ready to confront the federal might and didn't shy away from telling ojukwu so. His reasons were based on the reality on the ground as opposed to ojukwu's emotional knee-jack reaction. Same thing the late sage, warned him against to which Ojukwu retorted the following day on a bbc radio interview that the old man was talking "nosense". It's a free world and as such you are welcome to your belief. Even if Banjo had got to lagos, i believe Ojukwu would have still lost the war (assuming there were no british, russian planes) , simply 'cause he will find it hard to retain his hold on the capital. 2 Likes |

Also add the fact that had Awolowo steered Yoruba away from alignment with the North by refusing to serve in Gowon's regime, Gowon would never have fougjt Biafra even with British and Russian support. gidgiddy: |

Ojukwu fled when it was his turn to go down like a man Ojukwu framed them up and killed them because they told him he was fighting a War Biafra Couldn’t Win Of the Four sent to the Firing Squad only Ifeajuna was Igbo Agbam and Alele were from Rivers State and Banjo was from Ogun State Njoku’s name was removed at the last minute when Ojukwu Caved In to his Kinsmens Pleadings And was Jailed instead 2 Likes |

Christistruth00: Waiting to killed by your enemies like a Chicken, is not going down like a man. That is going down like a fool because only a fool will wait to be killed Well he fought for the independence of his people for three years before he fled Nobody in your tribe can ever for independence for 3 minutes to even talk about getting to the stage of fleeing |

gidgiddy: Of the Four sent to the Firing Squad only Ifeajuna was Igbo Agbam and Alele were from Rivers State and Ojukwu was already doubting their Loyalty and Banjo was from Ogun State Col Njoku’s name was removed at the last minute when Ojukwu Caved In to his Kinsmens Pleadings And Njoku was Jailed instead All of them had told Ojukwu to Negotiate a face Saving agreement before Biafra lost the War Ojukwu refused their advice and framed them as Saboteurs for Coup plotting instead The first Court Martial had already acquitted Banjo after finding him not guilty Ojukwu quickly organised another one and the Men were executed the next day Banjos family said they pleaded for Ojukwu to return Banjo’s body to his family for Burial but Ojukwu refused to do so until he passed on There was a Rumour that Ojukwu had fed Banjo’s body to dogs which could have been quelled by Ojukwu returning Banjo’s body to his family which he never did even after the War and so the Rumour gained more Traction Ojukwu and Banjo had been tight Friends before the War and it was because of that friendship that Banjo had supported Ojukwu and fought for Biafra 1 Like

Christistruth00: Banjo, Ifeajuna, Alale and Abam were all tried for conspiring to remove Ojukwu and the penalty for that in military times is execution If fact, Banjo and his fellow conspirators were secretly recorded at Progress hotel Enugu, by Ben Odogwu, who they brought into the plot, but was very loyal to Ojukwu The recording of the men discussing how they would go to government house and get Ojukwu, was played in open court and it nailed the men 1 Like |

ProWalker: Why didn't Ojukwu lead his own troops into battle himself instead of sitting in his Office and Drinking UK imported Beer The Irony is Col Banjo was Biafra's most Successful Commander Col Banjo was senior to Ojukwu in the Army Victor Banjo was from the Banjo Royal family of Ijebu Ode https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TVs--xiV2aE https://thenationonlineng.net/victor-banjos-daughter-ojukwu-betrayed-father-killing/ 2 Likes
